I think we should just win all our remaining games. This is totally doable and would give us the FA Cup.

This position will last until Wednesday night.

They should definitely *best* Spurs to ensure the most comedy outcome possible.

I mean I don't have any beef with Spurs, it's just objectively hilarious

(1) this is not the argument that is traditionally made by the left; it's that self id is sine qua non and that you both endangering trans people by not having it and (2) you can say this as much as you like, it's not clear the wider public buys it.

Yes that has come through very clearly in the last decade of British and US politics. 100%. That is how politics has worked, and that's who has won.

The public ina democracy does not in fact have to do that, and politicians are well aware they do have to do that because the politicians that do not note it are not there for long.

Not hard to generate scenarios where self id opens safe guarding issues, the right do it for sport. The response of the left is that men would not do that nor need to do that, but you don't have to look hard for examples of abusers going to extreme lengths. So the left loses badly on the issue.

"This is really none of the public's business" is how the left in Scotland got massive catastrophic blowback.
Self id has also become a totemic issue but there's nothing incompatible about being generally sympathetic to trans rights and believing that might have safe guarding issues.

I agree though I don't think it has to be the on paper strongest team. We can use our squad - last two games have been draining and we don't have to gamble on fitness and tiredness the way we would have if we were desperate for a result.

And mobile phones? They still have their own brand of conspiracy theories!

Creatives here hate AI with the fire of a thousand suns. I get it, it's potentially as existential to IT workers But it does some useful stuff now, isn't going to be uninvented and will get better & cheaper. We'll adjust.

There's "AI is different, it needs massive data centres that destroy the planet" takes. Oh boy, have I got news for you about The Internet.

Plus there was crazy and still on-going infrastructure investment to reach workable speeds.

I'm worried.
Feels like last season where you just can't be done with it

3 days ago 1 0 1 0

How about, just throwing it out there, we just win all our remaining games and then not have to worry?

Thing is, it 100% should have been more. Replay the last 10 minutes of that Newcastle game 100 times and we win in 99 of them. And it wasn't the only one.

"Cultural appropriation" is a thing empires do, or maybe even a description of how empires evolve. I think it's problematic when applied to individuals.
Much left discourse is similar imo; descriptions of processes that apply to groups or systems are lifted from academia and applied to individuals

Ireland has just faced a week of very high profile fuel protests that have blocked motorways, fuel depos and the main airport. Fuel is also heavily taxed with a lot of targets for populism. The problem is the politics of this don't about the economics and is the type that kills governments

Never convinced there is an advantage to throwing a cup game. Winning is always good. Keeps a run, breaks a run, gives the club a good vibe.
If rotation is good, we should be doing more of it in the league.

Optician once shone a light in my eye and then looked very concerned and asked if I ever saw floating spots in my vision. I had to clarify if he meant right now or in general, since I had a big spot in my eye from him shining a very bright light in it.
That one didn't count, thankfully

I like the fada in Seán, my granny used it. It reminds me of her. I think officially it's missing, but I variously add it when I remember or feel the spirit of James Connolly channelling through me.

Plus there's lots of things we just pay for and don't introduce pricing mechanisms for all sorts of reasons because we prefer convenience or something else to perfect efficiency. Maybe public transport should be another one. That's again a political question and not an economic one

And the NHS is very good value for money on outcome / percentage of GDP spent. Health services tend to vary, good at some things and worse at others. The need to keep costs low is probably helps it. Same logic applies to a free public transport service

Overstated. Dropping price will increase demand, which supports calls for better service. Ticketing = friction too. You swap out negative externalities of car traffic, redistribution is not the only goal. Assertion that the Treasury will starve the service is a political point, not an economic one.

These tools aren’t going away though, especially in software dev, so I think we have to figure out some way to build knowledge while using them. The SDLC is going to reconfigure and I don’t think anyone has properly figured out how yet.

I think this is right. But it's not clear how to clearly signal it. A Republican VP - say Ronmey? - would make sense for that, but not sure the left of Democratic Party would have worn it.

You could have appointed someone that'd have moved the prosecutions faster but SC could still slow walk it.

They thought they'd win and slow walking it wouldn't work. It wasn't a bad theory, based on historic links between economy recovery and election performance, but everything is broken now.

History is littered with candidates partisans like and the wider electorate didn't. Plus how do you decide "who you like"?
You need to think hard and consider multiple factors. Charisma, wide appeal and electoral downsides are fine things to worry about. They just can't be the only thing.

Bielsa might come back, and he'd be up for it. I know people say it'd tarnish it but this is a better team than the one he left and he could 100% improve it.
It's impractical for all sorts of reasons, but I'd love to see him back at least as a director of football / build the youth academy role.

I hear some of the international coaches might be looking for jobs after the World Cup

I would love to see Bielsa backed with money. Plus, even beyond that new set of players he could work miracles with.

My mind went straight there too

We are going to have to churn the squad and he frees up a lot of money to spend, like Tanaka. I expect we'll have to suck up losing some good players to improve the squad overall
