I haven't seen a public Labour response, but I have been sent this by a Labour activist: "The Greens did support our amendment in February to try to save the holiday vouchers scheme, as shown in the letter, but then, in March, when Labour again tried to stop the cut... (1/2)

Pollcheck predicts a sweeping 40-seat victory for the Lib Dems in South Cambridgeshire, with the other five going to the Conservatives - though some of these are very marginal. www.pollcheck.co.uk/locals-2026#...
Pollcheck's latest seat predictions are now very close to mine; the only difference is that Pollcheck thinks Labour will hold Castle, while I think the LDs will win it. www.pollcheck.co.uk/locals-2026#...
Interesting survey of student opinion from cappucinos123 on X - based on a sample of 204, mostly from Camfess, so treat with caution - but indicating a large swing from Labour to Green. However a key issue with student voters is whether they will actually turn out for local elections.
I thought this might happen.

A by-election is to be held in the County Council's northernmost seat, Roman Bank and Peckover, following the conviction of Reform UK councillor Andy Osborn for making or publishing a false statement under the Representation of the People Act 1983. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
I’ll post Labour’s response if one is published.
In my experience of Cambridge local election campaigns, the Moment of Maximum Aggro between rival parties usually occurs somewhere between the Thursday and Tuesday before polling day, so it's still probably at least two weeks away.

Apologies to Cherry Hinton councillors Mark Ashton and Russ McPherson - my article incorrectly said it's councillor Ashton up for election this year, when it is in fact councillor McPherson. This will be fixed when the article appears on the website.
I'm less bothered by this since discovering I have an ancestor who changed his name from Rogers to Rodgers when moving from the south of England, where Rogers is more common, to the north, where Rodgers predominates.
As ever with MRP projections, these numbers should all be taken with a substantial pinch of salt; there will certainly be local factors in individual seats which aren't captured in these projections. However, it does give you a general flavour of how things are going.
Things are somewhat less bleak for Labour in Peterborough, where the MRP has them a whisker ahead of the Conservatives, with Reform UK in third.
In Huntingdonshire the MRP has Reform UK out in front. The Conservatives are in second, well down from the 43.5% they got in 2022.
Here's what the MRP projects for South Cambs - an overwhelmingly dominant performance by the Lib Dems, with the Greens in a distant second place.
This would be a truly catastrophic result for Cambridge Labour, who got 44.5% of the vote in 2022 when the seats up this year were last contested. I can't quite believe they are going to do this badly, but this does suggest they will be well down on previous results.
Here are the projected vote shares for the Cambridge city council elections from the recent JL Partners MRP. The Greens are fractionally ahead of the Lib Dems, with Labour third on 22%. www.jlpartners.co.uk/polling-resu...
I haven't seen anything about it yet, though I notice that Newnham candidate David Carmona is Eleanor's election agent.
I think something out of Mad Max would look a little worse than that.
