Cis people should never, ever, ever, EVER be put in charge of any program designed for trans people. They will always move to put up walls, gatekeep, and limit accessibility all in the name of "helping" us.
Do you own Dread Delusion on Steam? Did you like the soundtrack? Good news! You can buy it now. store.steampowered.com/app/4530310/...
Hey pals, we’re getting closer to GRIEF EATER’s book birthday! Very excited for you all to read my bloody, vengeful, revenge book. 🖤✨
Boosts humbly appreciated!
This whole thread, but goddamn, yes. Trans rights are human rights, and trans kids, like all kids, have every right to be safe and healthy and grow up into the adults they choose to be.
friendly reminder: april fools day isn’t an excuse for you to make shitty & harmful “jokes” to your friends. 👏🏻
be silly, but DON’T BE WEIRD! 😤
I do love a good prank 🤭
i’m gonna tell the flowers what you did. and then they’ll tell the bees and the bees will tell the birds. good luck next time you come to the meadow bro
A digital illustration of a medieval banner. It says in medieval inspired script "ye olde trans rights". It is decorated with plants and blue, pink, and white flowers.
Two portrait aligned digital illustrations of book covers. Left: An illustration of Afaeran and King Galdor from the webcomic Wundor. They stand in the centre, facing each other. They are bordered by Ancient Greek inspired white columns and an arch above them. The columns are covered with grapevines, vine leaves, and hanging purple grapes. Afaerun is an oche skinned elf with flowing light pink-white hair, and wears a curved silver and ruby tiara, he smiles as he looks at King Galdor. King Galdor is a purple skinned monarch with a single white horn growing from his head. He has flowing dark purple hair, and wears a red leaf laurel. He holds Afaerun's cheek in a romantic embrace. Right: The cover for the book The Need for Dandelions by Alex Larkspur. Two men stand back to back surrounded by depictions of dandelions. The man angled to the front is Galen. He has tan skin, red hair, and hazel eyes. A large portion of his face is covered by a burn scar. He wears a yellow tunic and brown pants, along with a pink flower pendant. He lifts up one hand, and looks concerned. The other man, facing towards the back but looks over his shoulder, is Sasha. He has light brown hair, dark brown eyes, and stubble. He is wearing leather armor and green shirt and pants. He is holding a sword.
2 different portrait illustrations side by side. Left: Alder is a green skinned eladrin elf paladin. He stands nude in a forest. He wears a gold crown of laurels on his head. He looks down at the ground. He holds a sword in one hand, and a sprig of alder branch in the other, he has a shield attached to one arm. He is surrounded by green trees and yellow flowers. Right: A digital illustration inspired by the pairing Hansry (Hans Capon and Henry of Skalitz from the game series Kingdom Come Deliverance). The illustration is influenced by a scene in the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice. It is separated into 3 panels. Panel 1: Hans Capon looks behind him in quiet shock at his bodyguard Henry. Panel 2: Henry has touched Hans' ungloved hand with his gauntleted one in a gentle hold. The panel is surrounded by blooming flowers: herbs and plants that Henry can forage on his journey. Marigold, St John's Wort, Valerian, Sage, Chamomile, and Dandelion. Panel 3: Henry meets Hans' eyes with an unreadable expression. He quietly yearns beneath it.
A digital illustration of a purple, green, and grey-blue themed bookshelf. The book shelf is filled with old tomes, Victorian inspired knick-knacks such as keys, teacups, candles, and a flask of a potion. On one of the shelves there is a framed picture of an anatomical human heart, along with a skull resting on a stack of books. On another shelf, there is a bust of Diana the Greek goddess.

the computer was supposed to do the technical work so humans could be creative but they done invented a kind of computer that's so bad at math that they have to pretend it's creative
"One always has the impression that evil is comparative, and what seems indescribably awful to us may be perfectly normal to cats."
—C. L. Moore to R. H. Barlow, 29 Jul 1936
We need to stop viewing art as a product, especially independently produced art. Expecting artists to just churn out work quickly because you want it is not only extremely selfish, but also deeply undermines all of the work that goes into making art good. You can’t rush art.
I know it has some legitimate uses but as someone with a non computer job my experience with ai is mostly not be able to believe most things I see online. Even cute animal videos, one of the last wholesome things we had.
The thing about AI is that I understand there are tasks you would like technology to do for you, makes all the sense in the world, but I have no idea why any of those tasks would be “write a book” or “perform a song” or “act in a movie” or a lot of the rest of this shit
Visibility feels very not needed. I'd rather make trans books visible, especially if they have a trans main character(s)!
So drop us your trans book recs!
If you're a trans author & or have a trans MC; give us a description, link & graphic of your own books!

I feel like the concept of April Fools Day is a relic from a pre-2016 world.
It's TDOV. I'm a trans women, I edit books about trans women, I offer big savings for trans women authors.

HEY book readers and people who COULD be book readers soon!
I'm a trans author of SFF & horror.
My queer horror comedy about a cryptid-hunting YouTuber is #free today for the #transrightsreadathon & #tdov ( #transdayofvisibility ).

had some composition ideas to test out
Not sure if i want to render them more painterly or leave them sort of rough-handed cel shaded but it has a sufficient amount of charm to be a proof of concept for now
The final will be in greyscale for print so this is just a fun color variant test for me
You bet I am disrespectful of anyone who would claim using AI Slop as cover art is even kind of acceptable, but especially of the claim that it's in some way essential or even a net good for authors!
I am so much more than merely disrespectful of that sanctimonious and self serving horseshit!

Large blue text reads, “Why do so many book people keep forgetting to credit illustrators?” Beside the text, a roundish blue winged horse contains the text “#Pictures Mean Business.” At the bottom is the credit: “Illustration: Sarah McIntyre along with a website link.
To publishers, authors, & others posting about illustrated books, including covers that have illustration: Please credit the ILLUSTRATOR.
This not only helps boost the illustrator, but also shows that you value HUMAN illustrators.

a reminder to my fellow writers: if you have written anything in the midst of the horrors—literally anything at all—that is a win and you should be proud of it
Entries close Wednesday, Oct 22.
Winner/s, if any, will be announced on Friday, Oct 24, alongside the official new book!
great book, more people should read it
I had a judge presiding over one of my cases ask me if I had been a defendant in one of his cases because he recognized me. I was like nope. I'm counsel. I was dressed impeccably in a vintage Calvin Klein suit that I'd paid way too much money for. It happened in 2005ish and I still think about it.
The form to enter is here:
forms.gle/A5gy5WhdHcsG...
Guessing is free, but I encourage you to buy a few books or read them on KU, etc. Everyone worked really hard this year, like always!
So, I'm running a contest:
Find my book! Win a cool prize!
The more entrants I have, the more Prize I will add; if I receive multiple correct guesses somehow, the hierarchy is in order of guess received.
Right now, I have a signed copy of the paperback edition of BRINGER on the line & more...
