From @acboggiano.bsky.social, @f-orbitals.bsky.social, and co-workers, the first crystal structures of Pr(v) complexes.
The 5+ state was achieved through oxidation of the tetravalent imidophosphorane complex.

Pushing the known limits of lanthanide oxidation, chemists have isolated praseodymium (Pr) in the +5 oxidation state. The finding suggests that chemists should shift how they situate lanthanides in the periodic table. cen.acs.org/materials/in... #chemsky🧪
Good thing that I work in print media, because I reallys struggle to pronounce praseodymium. My latest piece in @cenmag.bsky.social about a Pr5+ compound from @stormslapierre.bsky.social @bessvlai.bsky.social and Ivan A. Popov.

This project was driven experimentally by @acboggiano.bsky.social and @julieniklas.bsky.social with critical crystallographic insight from Florian Kleemiss and theoretical analyses by @bessvlai.bsky.social, Ivan Popov, Chad Studvick, and Sabyasachi Roy Chowdhury
My new study featuring a series of uranium in the +4/+5/+6 oxidation states.
I've been very intrigued by the prospect of isolating this unusual tetrahomoleptic U6+ di BArF salt for some time, and am happy to share it in IC! s/o to my co authors!
