OK, yeah. It was kinky.
It was really good, but not in a schlocky way- in a gritty, almost noir way.
Lots of dark, urban night scenes on location.

Tightrope (1984)
A kinky killer and a kinky cop both prowl the French Quarter.
The back of the box actually says it’s kinky. I don’t know. Let’s find out.
It took me several tries to get through this.
Wesley Snipes is a secret agent for the United Nations, 007 type stuff.
They have a logo which is like the UN’s, but with a big handgun in the middle!
OK, we’re rolling!
Looks clean and barely used.
This reel brake looks factory fresh!
The automatic head cleaner is deteriorating.
I’ll pull it out.
Look what I found.
It’s a Sharp VCR
Made in Malaysia.
Looks like middle late ‘90s.
Looks like this is not a universally beloved movie.

What is this??
It looks like it’s going to be a comedy like Meatballs goes to war, or something.
Then it goes way too brutal.

Rambo: First Blood Part II
If you haven’t seen these, the first Rambo is a real movie. It’s thoughtful, dreary and emotional.
The second one is a hard tonal shift into over the top action!
Action time!

First Blood (1982)
(It’s not actually called Rambo. They added that to later releases though.)
Ghost Dance (1980)
I loved this!
I found it at an estate sale among a bunch of westerns.
It turned out to be a full-on golden age supernatural slasher that’s been mostly forgotten.
Great throbbing soundtrack!
Universal had already done Jekyll and Hyde and the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
The Phantom was the third. It established a pattern that led up to Dracula which kicked off the golden age of horror.
The story of how this came about is a funny coincidence.
Carl Laemmle, the founder of Universal, was on vacation in France. He mentioned to some film industry guys that he thought the opera house was cool. One of them said he had written a book about it and gave him a copy.
It was Gaston Leroux.

-and big action.
I’m excited about Steele Justice. It has a reputation for being so bad it’s good.
Mom: No, we have Drew Struzan poster art at home.

Just rolling in from an estate sale with a saucy load of action!
The guy had a mix of tough-guy action and westerns with a special focus on native american stuff. I kind of got the idea he had a bit of a special interest in the women especially.
I only grabbed a couple with the coolest covers.
This movie looks amazing.
The director is getting great shots and the lighting is wonderful.
Steven Segal is pretty likable when he’s playing a slightly sleazy character.
In a lot of movies, he’s strong and silent with wisdom and inner peace, and he’s terrible at it.

Marked for Death (1990)
Most of the general public (and even film fans) of the 1990s never heard of Feature Films for Families. But for a certain sliver of young cinephiles, it is a core memory — and for their parents, a source of telephone trauma. crookedmarquee.com/the-bizarre-...
This is directed by Robert Wise who also did The Haunting and Star Trek the motion picture.
It has cool abstract soundtrack! It sounds like some synth sounds and also tape effects.
It reminds me of Musique Concrėte
