TCG feels more like "how can I manipulate the game to work with my strat" and VGC feels more like "how can I manipulate my strat to work with the game"

As someone who's trying competitive TCG and VGC for the first time over the last 4 months, it's fun learning both. There's a very similar learning curve of "I've learned one opening setup for my team, and it's great when it works, but I'm not experienced enough to be flexible yet"... time & practice
