In fact planning out how I want to pace myself, I think the first week will be mostly just repeating this exercise. I want to separate different segments of the courses I'm taking week-by-week, even if it's going to result in this week being a slower one.

I've drawn so many fucking pears today

May not post every day b/c I want this to remain fun & I definitely won't post EVERY attempted drawing, but right now my goal is to do at a bare minimum -A- drawing every day.

Today is Day 1; project was a simplified drawing from observation. This is using one of Proko's references.

I need structure (which is why I worked through CGMA courses the last time I felt this spark, back before they collapsed/imploded to greedy bullshit), so my current plan is working through Proko courses; I'm starting from square 1 again, beginning with their "Drawing Basics" course.

I've finally found it. After a couple years of struggling to bring myself to push through and continue practicing art, I've finally re-found that spark of motivation to keep me going even while I push through the fundamentals.

Seriously, Floor Jansen & Henk Poort singing Phantom of the Opera together is one of the most delightful things ever, especially the clips of them doing Phantom on Beste Zangers!

None of the games are remotely bad and I've enjoyed playing them all, but FF4 falls short on its final dungeon and the Zeromus fight.

Loved the skill system, though it made gauging whether I was ready to greatest Pandaemonium much more challenging (to say nothing of grinding, since I needed to grind multiple skills individually.

Did not love the 4th party slot always being temporary & lagging behind.

1) How dare you not tell me that FF2 starts out sad

2) I’m really enjoying this skill system so far. I’m still pretty early game, but I like it!

One down, fifteen (well, fourteen if you don’t count XIV, which I’ve already completed since I’m a savage raider) main-series games and nine side games to go!

Final Fantasy 1 Progress: Liches get stitches, Earth Crystal complete. :D

It’s really nice to be playing games from the couch again. Here’s hoping that translates to more time enjoying games and less time feeling like there’s something more productive I could be doing sat at my desk.

This is all also a final effort to enjoy playing games again? I’ve been so apathetic lately, I’m hoping couch gaming in a genre outside my usual (logistics, strategy, & settlement building) will help.

If not, I’m probably gonna step away from video games for a while (FF14 raids notwithstanding).

I got my HTPC set back up (running Bazzite for a SteamOS experience), so playing on my couch & TV as part of my effort to just get the hell away from my computer desk. Enjoying FF1 so far, but looking forward to 2+ when I start getting actual characters.

Also “all” includes FFXI so that’ll be fun!

So, other than FF14, I’m pretty sure I’ve never actually finished a Final Fantasy game before.

No idea how far I’ll get, but I’m now slowly starting to work through all of them, starting with FF1 (against my friends’ advice, but YOLO).
