Yeah, that could have been the backing track to some show for kids about science. (Somewhere, Bill Nye is feeling cheated.) I'm glad you posted this because I forgot how charming RDA is, both here and on Stargate.

I have no idea what "feminizing strings" are, but this is one of my favorite cop-show themes, too.

David Cassidy, famous for being a pop star, performs a slow and plodding theme song here. If he doesn't seem to care, why should the audience? <shakes head sadly>

Interesting (to me, at least) to speculate on whether NCIS's medical examiner, Dr. Mallard, was based on Dick Van Dyke's character. We'll never know, I guess. But at least David McCallum could do a non-U.S. accent better than Van Dyke.

It's rude to comment on my own comment, perhaps, but I'd be remiss if I didn't pause to point out that in addition to starring, co-writing, and directing, Gross also provided additions ("32 Down" and "Ride Forever") to the literal Soundtracks to Copaganda.

I'd consider adjusting the timeline a bit. I think the ego started with Tales of the City and carried through Passchendaele, a couple of years after Slings & Arrows. Peak ego was all the time (1996-2008) when he had so many projects that he helped to write in addition to starring and directing.

I forgot what a boring theme song Due South has! Also, I'm amused by how the theme in seasons 3 & 4 becomes a loving tribute to Paul Gross; you'd think Fraser was the only main character.

Coming Unglued: Week Eight of the Stupid Coup (and the Stalwart Resistance) Spring is here and so is authoritarianism, and I recommend your serious attention to both. We may be at this resistance business for a while, so take care of yourself so you can keep taking care of hu...

Virtually every Cybertruck — those freaky Tesla vehicles made to look like aggression incarnate – has been recalled, because, literally, they come unglued. What a metaphor for this regime: a weak vehicle trying to look tough, a victim of its own cheapness, an ugly toy falling apart.
