Despite a 100 mile trip, my grandson built up 6 home pts last season (2 friendlies, 2 U21s & 2 Women's).
Not even enough for the only home #afcb friendly unless it goes to 1 point. He may end the season with fewer points than he started with. Disappointing!

Interim update on #afcb squad age/contract length. Let me know of errors/omissions. I've included returning loanees. A few missing as Transfermarkt doesn't show contract date.
I'll update it again when the window closes.
NB: I was asked for this on Twitter so I'll have to post it there too.
I bailed out at half-time to watch a Polish crime drama. I think I got the best deal. Dear me!
I tried Instagram. It’s all about photos. My 12 year old grandson got me to try TikTok. It didn’t last long!
Getting fed up with the amount of ads, reels and stuff I have no interest in on Facebook.
I’m edging closer to returning to the 1990s! 😂
I was not familiar with that. I’ll give it a go thanks.
It’s disappointing. I came here 6 mths ago and initially it looked hopeful.
Not posted on my X acct since Jan and don’t plan to - though I still look at it daily.
I’m rapidly coming to the notion of baling out of all social media. It needed the club to make the move.
It was fun while it lasted.
It would be good if Frank, Silva, Glasner & Iraola all said no to Spurs.
I think Allardyce is available.

Hypothetical question about #afcb ticket price.
They didn’t go up for 6/7 years before we got to the PL. If we’d never made it and were still in L1/2, would they be:
a) lower, to attract a full crowd to see that level of football; or
b) higher, as it would be our main revenue source?
It’s that time of the year with no football and our club is failing miserably to make hourly announcements so I’ll do it…
- Iraola signs 10 year contract;
- Kerkez turns down a move to “finish the project at #AFCB”;
- max pts holders can buy season tickets;
- all prices frozen forever.
#afcb 2024/25 v 2023/24 stats:
Pts ⬆️ 8 (16.7%)
Pos ⬆️ 3 (15%)
Won ⬆️ 2 (15.4%)
Lost ⬇️ 4 (25%)
Scored ⬆️ 4 (7.4%)
Conceded ⬇️ 21 (31.3%) ⬅️ wow!!
World class Performance Centre open
Repurchased Dean Court
Profit on Huijsen: £13,795 for every PL minute played! ⬅️ also wow!!
Not a bad season.
Fun fact: Leicester finished on 25pts and a GD of -47. It means Enes Unal's stunning 90th min equaliser v West Ham on 16th Dec (GW 16) made us 'retrospectively' mathematically safe!
That is 6 game weeks earlier than our previous best last year.
#afcb bought Dean Huijsen from Juventus for £12.8m;
Sold to Real Madrid for £50m;
10% of profit to Juventus (£3.72m).
If he plays the whole game on Sunday he’ll have played 2,500 PL mins.
That is a profit of £13,392 per minute!
New world record for VAR?
58:52 Forest get a free kick
60:07 Free kick taken (1:15 delay)
60:09 Goal scored (VAR check)
66:23 Goal confirmed (6:14 delay)
66:43 West Ham kick-off
Before VAR we had to go with the ref.
Surely VAR should have max 30 secs to prove the ref wrong?
What if Dean said to Liverpool “I prefer Madrid but I’ll come here if you pay £60m. How badly do you want me?” 😂
Right, I’m returning to my original universe now to watch the football.
It was just an analogy. As we’ve said already, the 1st to offer £50m gets to discuss with him. He doesn’t have to accept so while he is considering it another club could bid more.
It IS linked to financial regs as the rich clubs can’t just splash the cash with consequences.
I wasn’t making any assumption. I was hypothesising. That is very different.
So why do auctions work? A ‘thing’ is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it. If someone wanted DH very much they could in theory have gone down that road. In the days before financial regulations that is what would have happened.
Whatever happens these 5 clubs will end the season 8th to 12th (though it could be in any order). There is a certain similarity in all 5 of them and their recent history. #afcb
Exactly. So as I said at the at the beginning, it is a shame a bidding war didn’t start. 😂
No you’re not being stupid! I’m just speculating with incomplete information. But to take your point…
If RM offer £50m and Dean £100k pw and then another big Champions League club (Atletico? Barca?) offer us £100m and Dean £200k pw then what?
It’s all hypothetical obviously.
Yes I realise players have a right to refuse but whether they do or not it would never work out well for any party.
We have all heard of players sold against their will because the club needs the money etc. Not a lot of difference between “refusing” and “agreeing begrudgingly”
I guess it depends if the release clause is ‘first one to offer £50m gets him’ but knowing several clubs might have been prepared to offer it, then one club might have offered more. As we say, he wanted RM so anyone else would know that.
Yes obviously but assuming he was out for next season. Could RM call it off? I guess they will have discussed all that.
I think if there is ANY risk to us we won’t play him other than perhaps a cameo at the end of the Leicester game.
Yes I realise that but the stopper was Dean expressing his preference. The release clause was just the level at which we couldn’t say no. If another club had bid, say, £60m we would have been allowed to accept it even if he didn’t want to go there. But we are not that sort of club.
Interesting isn’t it? I’ve never known a transfer to be done in this way. I hope Madrid have their insurance sorted!
Good luck to him. My only regret is it didn’t start a bidding war. Who knows what someone might have paid?
Assuming Huijsen actually does play the last 2 games for #afcb, (and I hope we do get the chance to say goodbye) what happens if he picks up a serious injury?
With Boro's season over, does that make Travers available as back-up keeper for our last 2 games? #afcb
10 years ago when #afcb hit the big time: front page on WSC.
Luckily none of those three speech bubble came true. 🙃
That’s as ridiculous as the Kluivert one against Chelsea.
2024/25 is the first PL season #afcb have not even flirted with relegation.
We have never been lower than 14th - match week 2 after 2 draws. (It should've been 6th but for Dango's 'handball goal'!)
In fact, since beating Spurs in match week 14 we have not been out of the top half.
