I’m an extreme example of this - own thousands of books, probably low double figures are hardbacks and I’m always looking to replace them if/when I can. Take up more room on the shelf and are less comfortable to hold while reading.

Whenever I see this, I wade into buzzkill it - the buy now! headline was invented and created by the tweeter which I think makes what could have been the greatest tweet ever one of the most disappointing. This sort of tweet only works where existing wording is discovered by someone.
I gave my teapot to an opponent I beat and I still get raised eyebrows when I tell people that. You only get a teapot if you win a show, and you only get one teapot, so they’re… sought after.
But the river Sananda doesn't even flow through Maitreya??
Sandy beaches
A fair few of them feel like 10k longreads similarly stretched to me. Doubtful about the new Radden Keefe one of instance - that was a good article but a whole book on it? Hmm.
Been missed for several years by my quiz league, and good to see it back. It’s a classic example of the “cosy bolthole on very unappealing thoroughfare” pub, which is one of my favourite subcategories of London boozer.

I know a lot of people think Microsoft Excel is a dreadful piece of software, but I would rate it October 10th.
Lovely Wittgenstein story of just nine words — lower line here
A tweet by Rich 'Sir FarFrom' Tipple (@farfromallover): Roses are red, Florists deliver, and then two people (one of whom appears to be William Hartnell in an early Dalek story) looking at a poster which says “IT IS FORBIDDEN TO DUMP BODIES INTO THE RIVER”
Can’t let Valentine’s Day pass without a bit of poetry, of course. Here’s one by @rtipple.bsky.social from the old place
Oh man, though, to lose London’s best McDonald’s (in service terms) would be a barbarity.
I don’t want to laugh at a small business but also VERY funny
A photo that appears to have a "gettyimages" watermark but the watermark is actually painted directly on the bridge.
This watermark graffiti by street artist Mathieu Tremblin is, like, the best thing ever.
Magnificent song!
If it was a single album, I think it would probably be regarded as an all timer. As it is it’s very good but quite mixed and sprawling.
Yup, I agree with that. I certainly didn't have it nailed on, and I'm allegedly one of the better quizzers in the country. Feels like all S-Gs in my lifetime (born 1978) would have been much easier than naming Guterres.
Yes if it’s still Guterres. No otherwise.
Oh this is good. This is very good.
Good decision!
Magnificent band. So good to see someone else who was keen, amid the derision.

Push pineapples, shake the tree
If MC&TIS had been a single album and kept the best bits I suspect it’d have been an all timer.
ah fair, I can see a few references plus this photo in Seabrook’s volume now I check, which must be where Google AI is pulling it from.
Yes. Also, I wonder if the “link” to this garage is a bit AI-invented? I can see two websites using the photo in relation to the murders but neither explains precisely why. It is mentioned in Google’s AI write up of the garage name but feels a bit thin to me.
They were just so magnificent. I wish a fan would publish all the missing ones in the same format. I’d pay a lot for them.
I’m not even sure it needs explaining, perhaps beyond “France invaded the Channel Island of Jersey”, really.
I miss his Olympics books more than any other defunct series of books. (Schott’s Almanac is second.)
