Wi-fi is faster than your ‘ridiculously slow’ brain Scientists have found that humans process about 10 bits per second, while the computers and phones we use every day process about 50 million per second

Interesting - our brain thought processes slower than wifi? makes sense, the brain is doing multiple things and absorbing multiple bits of data from senses too.

A couple people are like “she’s actually barely lost any net worth” and that’s kind of the point: you can do an incredible amount of stuff and give away billions of dollars and not even notice it and 95% of rich people won’t even do that because they’re nihilist assholes

Hey everyone, INC Ransom has added A CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL to their list of victims.

Your periodic reminder that people who carry out ransomware attacks are worthless pieces of shit who deserve no mercy.

It blows my mind that NASA is able to receive data from 4.67 billion miles away, but I lose Wi-Fi signal in my kitchen.

My evenings are spent Capturing the Flag in my VR course across six challenges (I'm a newbie, be kind). The main point is to source exploits, identify the vulnerabilities and give mitigations in our group report and slide deck. Brain = 🤯.

I was diagnosed with ME/CF early last year after years of symptoms and doctors scratching their heads. Contracted GF in 2015 and had worsening symptoms from there. It truly does suck.

The 24/7 'fatigue' in #mecfs isn't like anything healthy ppl experience. The mitochondria in our cells can't produce enough energy. We lack enough even for basic tasks like brushing our teeth or showering. If we try to push against these limits, our immune system flares, and we suffer mightily.

Most people outside of research are still unaware of how much the cyberattack on @britishlibrary.bsky.social is still affecting the research community one year on. Good piece covering that + need to invest in libraries
