We’re flying into Liverpool and visiting a few English friends. Then west to Ynys Môn for a few days and a couple of events with the Anglesey Druid Order. Then South wherever we want, toward Cardiff where we’ll spend a couple of days. I want to visit the village I stayed in as a teen.

Husband and I officially purchased flight and rental car for our trip to Cymru in November. It’s getting real and I am so excited!

Welsh has *more* vowels than English. And who goes to another country and gets mad that their native language doesn’t follow English rules? As if English makes sense. I would expect an author to have more appreciation for language.

I do have S4C Clic but I can’t get it to stream with subtitles to my TV. And I still need subtitles because I’m not quite good enough to understand everything yet. I’m hoping to eventually not need them but I’m not there yet. Plus Wales is making great TV. More people should see it! 😊

Then you know I’m always going to speak out for awareness on this topic. There are better words.

Especially in a way that demeans them.

You’re still using the insult to the disabled person. You’re feeding into the premise that being disabled is bad. It perpetuates stereotypes. I have kids with cognitive disabilities. They work twice as hard to do half as much and they’re kind. They don’t deserve to have assholes compared to them.

The thing is, you’re not hurting them. You’re comparing them to someone with a disability and insinuating that to have such a disability is a bad thing. People don’t choose to have intellectual abilities and they aren’t willfully anything. They don’t deserve the comparison.
