This line chart shows the trade balance of cheese between Germany and Austria. The chart attempts to mimic the style of 18th-century charts. Until 2018, Germany exported more cheese (measured in tonnes) to Austria than it imported. Since then the balance has switched. In 2025, Germany imported more than it exported.

warum die auszählung der stimmen zur olympia-bewerbung der stadt köln so lange gedauert hat, erklärt dieser text. ein erfahrener wahlhelfer bezeichnet sie gar als „absolute shitshow“, die sorgfalt beim zählen habe gelitten. zurückgeführt wird das auf die missglückte planung der stadtverwaltung.
Bei anderen Wahlen werden deutlich kleinere Stimmbezirke mit wenigen hundert Stimmen ausgezählt. Es kann kaum allein an einer unerwartet hohen Wahlbeteiligung gelegen haben, dass man so daneben gelegen hat.
Man scheint sich mit der Zahl der benötigten Wahlhelfern arg verkalkuliert zu haben. Auf der Website der Stadt stand die Nachricht, dass man keine Helfer mehr suche.

According to his research, 75% of the world's population lived in extreme poverty two hundred years ago. This meant that they could not afford "a tiny space to live, some minimum heating capacity, and food that would not induce malnutrition."
Historian Michail Moatsos has compiled a dataset on the development of extreme poverty over the past two centuries.

Auch wenn das Ergebnis des Olympia-Entscheids „ja“ lauten sollte, könnte die Hohenzollernbrücke in Köln trotzdem dunkel bleiben. Eigentlich sollen bei einem positiven Ergebnis 112 Strahler die Brücke in Olympia-Farben beleuchten. Das Problem: Egal, ob die Lichter angehen oder nicht - die Strahler werden um 23 Uhr abgebaut. Kommt das Ergebnis zu spät, wurde alles umsonst aufgebaut. Dabei gingen die Arbeiten heute schon um 10 Uhr los und den ganzen Tag sind Security-Mitarbeiter im Einsatz, um die Lichtinstallation zu bewachen.
