Fabulous thread! Any word on how the Artemis II heat shield looked after reentry?

Fred from Scooby-Doo unmasking the bad guy at the end of a mystery, in two frames.
First frame:
Left side: a tied up man in a white featureless mask with eye holes. The caption over him in impact font reads, "SOMETHING I USED TO LOVE SUCKS NOW"
Right side of frame, Fred has his hand on the mask, about to pull it off. The caption on him reads, "LET'S SEE WHO'S BEHIND THIS."
Second frame:
The unmasked bad guy has a pencil thin curling mustache, a pointy nose, and dark hair, with a widow's peak.
The caption on him reads, "PRIVATE EQUITY"

I remember thinking this book YEAR OF YES where a woman decides to say yes to everything for a year to see where it lead her was a fascinating concept, (and then I found out that it was Shonda Rimes who really has a lot going for her as it is already, but that is ok)

Listen, they are building concentration camps and threatening genocide against a country of 90 million people. There is not a single remotely legal tactic that is impermissible when it comes to stopping them.

Is he wielding a Chinese broadsword? Why is he doing THAT with it? It’s a weapon with relatively short learning curve, but it’s really comes alive when you chop and slash with it.

Sure, but what about when he is super super mad, as opposed to, I don’t know, Tuesday?

Hahahahahhaha!!! Even though I think this is sort of a stunt, I did subscribe to the opinion today.

And I think it’s actually super creepy to be regularly entertained by all these lurid crimes.

I sort of avoid true crime podcasts and tv shows (producers for America’s Most Wanted once explored covering my mom’s murder back in ‘98…), but now I’m wondering, how does Errol Morris’s THE THIN BLUE LINE fit or not fit in with the genre? That film was flippin’ amazing.

Nicely done!

I knew someone who died a little over a year after she was diagnosed, which, frankly, was about about nine months longer than what was expected when it was diagnosed. It’s usually not detected until late, stage 4 late.

I may have made a mistake following @when-it-happens.bsky.social. Many many people are posting about what they will do! On the other hand, there a many, many great ideas, too! Hopefully it won’t take over my feed for too much longer.

So both of my grandmothers were tough as nails. I have never understand how to reconcile the stereotypical docile, subservient Asian woman with the Asian grandmother who will hip check another on elderly grandmother on the Chinatown street just as a way of saying hello.

So we would often have this sliced on the bias and steamed, served with white rice. At one point, my mom started to scoop out the chunks of fat before steaming, in an effort to make it less unhealthy. Fat is flavor, alas!

I would go with something between a quarter and half inch thick. It is not a precise thing :-)

(I was just thinking if one could use finely diced lop cheong to go with baked potato, but steaming the sausage with the potatoes lets the savory grease melt into the potato a little. )

The potato slices cook in the steamer -when the potato is tender, it’s done. I suppose one cannot oversteam the lap cheong (This is how I spell it, but there a gazillion ways to transliterate). A little soy sauce to taste.

The adult in me insists on serving this with some kind of vegetable!

I’ve seen pizza made with potato slices, so I’m thinking something similar, lightly sauced, with the Chinese sausage? I dunno, give it a try?

This experiment makes me recall a comfort dish: steamed Chinese sausage on sliced potato. The saltiness and fattiness of the sausage goes well with the potato, I think, but it is also the food of my childhood.

There may be some overlap between those two groups of sources, so 9-15 colleagues. Is that a lot? 😂
