not only are you not special, but your pain isn't even unique. people all over the world and even maybe right next door to you could be experiencing exactly the type and intensity of emotional/spiritual/physical/ logical pain you are and when you make the choice to proclaim your own experience as wholly unique and unable to be understood by others is one of those times where the individualism feels like such a choice. it's so damn cowardly and stunts your healing and it's cruel to the people around you who could help you and take care of and with you. it's a GOOD THING to not be or feel alone.
