#IshiRobinson #sweetnessintheskin. Brilliant book for year 9 upwards, fabulous protagonist with themes of family, identity, social class colonialism and friendship. Also, really complements the A level English language course with relationships to language, code-switching and creole. A great read!
Visceral, timely and so important. Our students (year 9 upwards) need to read this phenomenal book by Manjeet Mann. A real insight to life in Britain today and the desperate plight of so many.

How often are you doing whole class learning checks during your lesson? This can be a great way to chunk learning and manage cognitive load. After each ‘chunk’ get the whiteboards out and test their knowledge!

Free writes are such a good way to kick off creative writing: word roulette- students write 3 words on 3 post its, every 30s the teacher chooses one + students have to work it into their writing; scents in cups- a bit of cinnamon or ginger for the festive season can be a great sensory prompt!
I love this series you can use different script options for different group sizes, it makes Shakespeare a lot of fun at KS3
