Tom showing why he’s the best at what he does. A masterwork of a review for a masterwork of a game. Board games have never been better.
Huge congrats to the lovely team at @theoldkingscrown.bsky.social.

Get well soon mate! And I accidentally words all the time even when I don’t have a winter bug! 😉
Astonishingly good games.
Shut Up & Sit Down’s review of The Old King’s Crown has been blasted out into the Youtubisphere and we are beyond happy.

This looks excellent, just subbed. Thanks Rory!
It was amazing to spend time chatting and running demos over the 3 days. Lovely to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones! We’ll see you all next time!
Big hugs x

A few highlights…
👑 Plenty of sessions of @theoldkingscrown.bsky.social.
🐺 Clinching victory in mega game, Den of Wolves.
💃 Surprise balls and tentative trust in Molly House.
👹 A brutal session of @mothership.bsky.social.
Strange Games in the heart of Sussex. My fave event of the year. Camping + gaming shouldn’t work, but it DOES!
Whatta man whatta man whatta man whatta mighty goooood man.
The Old King’s Crown. A game of richly textured strategic manoeuvres that ultimately result in card play that’s as taut as razor wire around your throat. Lovely stuff.
Very excited for this folks ❤️
Thanks for having me on the show Cassie!

Emerging from the post UKGE exhaustion chrysalis. What a blummin’ weekend that was.
Option 4: All of the above.
Bus. 95% prosaic bus route planning game. 5% acid trip about breaking the space-time continuum.
Excuse me sir, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and saviour Jesus Christ?
Hope to see you there!
I would feel dead chuffed if I could do this for 6 seconds
I’m all about that berry basket bhoi
I absolutely will matey! I’m actually leaving Hachette shortly thereafter and onto pastures new (still within the games space!), but I’d love to give you a little tour of the new stuff again if you’ve got an hour or so free?
It’s a brain burner and a half
It’s great. Keeping the set list open whilst we play (and will probs print it off) but really enjoyed it. Played through the whole 12 rounds.
As someone who came into the tabletop gaming space through discovering reviews in video game media, this move from Polygon is terrifically sad.
Your work has extended this hobby’s reach into new circles, and I’ve personally met several people who credit you with bringing them into the hobby. Thank you for all of it Charlie.
Dabbling in the world of Hanafuda cards thanks to @huffnomore.bsky.social. Here’s Koi-Koi. A set collection game which roughly translates to “COME ON!!!!”
My dog tried to take out my TV when she saw a sheep in Kingdom Come Deliverance. I came to the conclusion that dogs aren’t very good at video games.
This is my 3rd play and I’m starting to weave strategies together. It’s not hard to learn the actions, but creating something out of them is obscure.
Lisb-ow-my-brain-a. 3rd play of this and I think it’s starting to make a lil sense.
Acquire. Proving that a game from 1964 can still be an utter delight.
Love Joyride… looking forward to trying the Duel version
