Cheers. A most enjoyable build.
Model airliner diorama
1/144 Dan-Air Comet 4, Palma de Mallorca, 1969.
1958 Hawk model kit - including exclusive ‘hinge-up’ fuselage - with TwoSix decals and bespoke interior.
Resin printed airport bus and steps, complete with home-made decals.
PLA printed diorama base.
Not on the layout, but I have got the servo operated crossing gates working on my 3D printed test bed. Full video coming soon.
In other news: progress on motorised level crossing gates with a 3D printed base for 4 micro servos. Too much work to retrofit this solution on my layout, but will be covered in my upcoming film.
Thank you. The old kit came up trumps.
Cheers. Pleased with how the bus etc turned out.
Thank you! A fun build.
Thank you! Nice to do something a bit personal.
It is fun. The hinge panel was always part of the old kit, but my interior is a replacement for the original one.

Finished!
1958 Hawk Models Comet 4 kit - complete with ‘hinge-up’ fuselage section - set on an area of hardstanding at Palma de Mallorca airport, to mark my first flight back in 1969.
3D printed resin wing tanks, interior and replacements for missing undercarriage parts, plus home-made vehicles.
Cheers!

1/144 scale airport bus model
My 3D printed airport bus design, now painted up and just about ready for decals.
1/144 scale 3D printed airport bus
Airport bus glazing sorted and roof glued on. Strips of acetate behind the frames for the back, with individually cut panes for the cab.
Diorama base painted up. Just the bus to finish now.
3D printed parts for a 1:144 scale model of an articulated airport bus.
Finally got all my airport bus bits printed successfully. Time to start painting up.
Here are the livery options:
I’ve now got my airliner steps listed on Cults3D for anyone who fancies making an airport diorama. Just £1.99 for the .stl, plus a .pdf for 3 classic liveries for printing decals. cults3d.com/en/3d-model/...
90% success with the bus cab. One of the fuel tanks didn’t print properly, but the fit with the back end is good.
Lovely!
They are. The trick is to airbrush a coat of enamel varnish to seal, then the ink doesn’t run. (youtu.be/BriLaf8wvy0?...)
Interesting!
I printed mine on a bog standard Canon inkjet.
Resin printed model airline steps with Iberia branding next to a 5p piece
My resin printed airline steps design - with home-made decals - in 1:144. (5p for scale as I don’t have a banana.)
3D printed 1/144 scale articulated bus trailer
New bus trailer test print. A couple of things to sort out, but hopefully next one will be good to paint up.

Not sure what’s going on here. I printed all the bus parts together, and this was on an area of the print bed I don’t normally use, but no idea if it’s a printer issue or a slicing glitch.

Mk 2 airport bus design. Much happier with the relative scales of the front and back. Test print running now.
Cheers!

My ancient Hawk kit (c. 1958) is finished - including “exclusive hinge-up” fuselage. I ended up replacing the kit interior with my own 3D printed version, also adding wing tanks and jet nozzles. Dan-Air livery from TwoSix Decals, just like the plane I flew on in 1969. Diorama coming next.
