GMT has posted the P500 for Foxes and Lions, designed by the wonderful Paul Wright and Liz Davidson. This is the next game in the series that began with Here I Stand. I had a chance to play a demo last November and was so taken with its many innovations.

I make an average of 1 unboxing of a game I haven't designed every 8 years, so when I make one, you know the game probably looks good:

(1) would be more clearly written as "There is dance music only in times of war", so by Gricean implicature I must conclude that (2) was intended.

Venice immediately proceeded to bribe Milan's mercenary captain and convince the HRE to attack Milan 😭 Don't worry though, the Pope is on his way to sort things out!

Having a morning playtest of Foxes & Lions (HIS system game I'm co-designing with Paul Wright) with @joedewhurst.bsky.social. Venice is both kicking butt and about to get wrecked by all the other powers who are clearly just jealous.

It's been a crazy time as the new creative director at Leder Games, but I'm settling in. In fact, I am delighted to announce a major typographic improvement to all of our games, past and future: We will be changing our official font to Papyrus! Can't wait to share even more innovations.

Played a great game of Baltic Empires with my local group today, I managed to sneak a national ambition win with Russia on round 5. Game is designed by Brian Asklev and forthcoming from @gmtgames.bsky.social! I'll have my copy at PunchedCon in May, although the game may be released by then.
