Here’s my thing: I want us to work this contract. And I’m happy to do so. But I want us to work it with our eyes open.
To be clear, there are real gains in this contract. A number of crucial baseline protections have been implemented. Our negcom kicked ASS getting all this done.
The “Last, Best, & Final Offer” still didn’t contain the AI protections that worried many members the most.
But instead of accepting what is LEGALLY considered “the actual final offer”, the committee chose to push back anyway & demand those protections be added.
It’s because of that, we have them.
