Somewhere along the way, we collectively decided that every website needs to be a cinematic masterpiece.

That scrolling through a website should feel like floating through a perfectly choreographed sequence, with animations and parallax effects gently guiding you toward enlightenment.

You Will Pry My Em Dash Out of My Cold, Dead Hands They're coming for my beloved em dash.

They say if your writing has too many em dashes these days — it must be AI generated.

That's funny, because I have been abusing the em dash for years — long before ChatGPT even existed.

If anyone wants to take my em dash away, they’ll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.

Self-Hosted Wordpress would be my recommendation. And there are near-free hosting plans that will cost you around $5/mo but would still suffice for what you need it for.

For the design, there are really nice and FREE blog themes out there you can just install and customize :)

To be honest, the last time I tried Joomla was around 2016. It was clunky when I tried it, but looks like it is well polished now.

How easy is Joomla to use now? It was hard when I was starting out which is why I learned WordPress instead.
