Only 9% of girls and young women we spoke to say they feel completely safe online.

This week, juries ruled that social media platforms can be held accountable for harming children. This is a good start but real change will take time to build a smarter, safer design to make the online world safer.

Hospitals must never be a target.

On Saturday, 64 people, including 13 children, were reportedly killed when a drone strike hit a major hospital in East Darfur, Sudan. This appalling attack on innocent civilians and medical personnel is just the latest horror in Sudan’s conflict.

We are one step closer towards decriminalising abortion in the UK Plan International is a global children’s charity striving for an equal world. One where every child can reach their full potential and every girl can choose her own future.

We are disappointed to see attempts to block this vital change by some Lords. Until the decriminalisation of abortion passes, people in England and Wales still face the threat of prosecution for ending their own pregnancies. Abortion is a human right and lifesaving healthcare.

Last night the House of Lords voted to update an archaic law created more than 100 years ago that creates fear and confusion for women at moments when compassion is needed most. We are happy that the Lords decided to pass this law through to the next stage towards decriminalising abortion.

We have joined over 80 UK organisations to write an open letter to the Prime Minister calling on the government to increase – not cut – UK international climate finance.

Acting on climate change is in everyone’s interest, it is about creating better and fairer lives for everyone.

We are deeply alarmed by the escalating military conflict in Iran and across the Middle East.

The killing and maiming of children are grave violations of children’s rights and of international law.

Children must be protected at all times. Children should never be targets.

Four years of conflict are exacting an emotional toll on its youngest survivors.

Ukraine is facing a ticking time bomb when it comes to children’s mental health. Years of fear, displacement and relentless violence are shaping this generation and generations to come.

Close to 100 charities condemn ‘devastating’ impact of a year of UK aid cuts In a joint statement, 93 NGOs call on the government to reverse ‘short-sighted’ reduction of up to 40 per cent in Britain’s aid budget

We've joined close to 100 charities condemning the ‘devastating’ impact of last year's UK aid cuts. Undeniable proof shows that women and girls suffer the most when aid budgets are cut. The UK must stand up for the futures of women and girls around the world.

This impact will be reflected across all aid budgets including humanitarian responses. As of Feb last year, humanitarian assistance accounts for only 30p of every £100 of public spending, the lowest level in 25 years.

The cost of this is more children going without healthcare, food, and protection.

It’s deeply worrying to see misogynistic narratives go unchallenged on one of the country’s most popular podcasts.

This content taps into very real fears and anxieties that boys and men may experience, then twist them to push misogynistic ideas that ignore the challenges women face.

Just 1 in 10 girls told us they feel completely safe online.

It is up to social media companies to take action in tackling gender-based violence online.

We won’t be posting on X anymore, but we will continue to stand up for girls’ rights everywhere else, including here!

Israel ‘undermined’ health of women and babies in Gaza, researchers say Restrictions on food and medical supplies devastated women’s ability to safely conceive, carry, and give birth to children, says report

The humanitarian situation in #Gaza remains critical for children and all civilians, including pregnant women and babies.

Malnutrition and a lack of access to healthcare resources has resulted in a surge of preventable deaths.

Aid is urgently needed.

Violence and harassment are shrinking girls’ worlds, and boys are being pushed towards divisive content and misogynistic influencers at alarming rates.

Tackling gender-based violence requires addressing all pieces of the puzzle, including educating boys.

Teachers to be trained to spot early signs of misogyny in boys The measure is part of the government's strategy to tackle violence against women and girls in England.

We welcome the focus on preventing the radicalisation of boys and young men in the UK Govt’s violence against women and girls strategy.

Let’s bring boys into the conversation and help support them in rejecting these harmful messages and gender norms.

Yesterday a category 5 hurricane with 120mph winds hit Jamaica and continues to cause devastation across the region.

We are monitoring the situation in the countries we work in, and while the scale of impact is unclear, our thoughts are with the children and families affected. 💙

An estimated 130,000 children and their families are trapped in El Fasher, Sudan where fighting has escalated.

The suffering is devastating. People are enduring unimaginable conditions. Action must be taken to protect civilians & allow safe humanitarian access.

Girls won't be forced back in time!⏰🙅‍♀️

They won't stand by as their rights are rewound, progress is paused and their voices are silenced.

The clocks may be going back this weekend, but we won't clock out of the fight for girls' rights!

This #DayOfTheGirl we're calling out misogyny and the idea that gender equality has gone 'too far'.

Girls' rights are under attack. Every day, everywhere. We must guard what's been won and demand what's still missing. Until we are all equal! 🙌

A ceasefire brings long overdue hope for Gaza’s children but the crisis is far from over.

After 2 years of relentless suffering, children in #Gaza have heard too many broken promises.

Only a permanent ceasefire and access to aid can truly protect them.

At #UNGA’s Beijing+30 event, @YvetteCooperMP stated: “Violence against women and girls is an international emergency.”

The UK must act:
🔹 Protect funding for gender equality & tackling violence
🔹 Ensure aid & policy advance girls’ rights
🔹 Champion girls’ rights worldwide

#GirlsRights can’t wait.

This decision is an important step towards ensuring every Palestinian child has their rights protected and that Palestinians will have more freedom to decide their own destiny.

However, as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen, state recognition is not nearly enough.

The UN Commission of Inquiry has found that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

No child should understand the word 'genocide' like this. No child should experience these horrors.

This cannot continue. Urgent action is needed now.

For Gaza students, big ambitions replaced by desperate search for food Student Maha Ali was determined to become a journalist one day and report on events in Gaza. Now she and other students have just one ambition: finding food as hunger ravages the Palestinian enclave.

2 years of air strikes have robbed Gaza's children of their education.

97% of educational facilities have been damaged and for many Gaza students, learning has been replaced by desperate search for food.

We refuse to stand by while futures are destroyed.
