And those extreme have dire consequences. Either I end up ignoring my gut feeling and end up pushing someone away, or I wall myself off from any socializing entirely and become miserable. So I need to find a way to be mindful in a way that doesn't cause me one william years emotional torment

Finding that balance is so hard because it often turns into an "all or nothing" matter. Either I power through any and all anxiety, or I get fully stuck in my head and do nothing. And trying to find balance often just tips into one of the 2 extremes.

The problem is when that impulse becomes debilitating. When the smallest sign of wrongdoing torpedoes any self-worth into a smoking crater. And 99% of the time, it doesn't even really lead to any growth. It just makes me more avoidant, and thus less likely to actually learn from my mistakes.

I don't know, I think the impulse to try and be mindful of others' boundaries and to not overstep is an extremely important one, even moreso in a space like this where so many bulldoze over people's comfort just to get their kicks off.

Had a fairly big anxiety scare recently that I made someone uncomfortable, which turned out to be a misunderstanding on my part... I'm glad to not have that weighing on me anymore, but it's hard for me to internalize the idea that I should absolutely stop worrying about these things I guess?
