Just listening to We Didn't Start the Fire, where Joel mentions "British Beedle mania". I'd almost forgotten about that, that year we all went crazy for Jeremy Beedle. We nearly lost our fucking minds there didn't we? Mad times.

It's bringing lots of joy. Every time we get one, we feel immensely pleased with how clever the clue was. A few stumpers though

Enjoying my copy of @unchcrosswords.com as I try to get back into cryptic crosswords this year. I'm making slow and steady progress with Catnip's puzzle and found another cryptic crossword lover in the office to help

If you use LibGuides this is a useful way to still be able to access them if they go down again (especially for my friends who were needing them for their presentations this morning!)

Not at the moment! But I'm only a short walk to the shops away

Realising I'm a triple threat, but all of those threats are to my own safety - namely a lack of balance, no hand-eye coordination, and no sense of self-preservation

I always understood that time was short and I tried to make the most of living. But I never factored in that my time with other people would be short because they might not be here with me. It sounds so stupid but knowing that now, it's crushing me

Statement: Removal of access to and modification of data by authorities in the USA CILIP invites members and the wider information profession community to share examples of how content, reports, datasets, evidence, and tools are being removed by US authorities

CILIP is concerned that the removal, hiding, and modification of data, research and other information resources by authorities in the USA is already starting to impede the vital work of UK information professionals.

Take that study away and a piece of the puzzle is gone. Do that over and over and it becomes hard to see the overall picture. Information matters. We can never predict what discoveries will benefit who. Research on one topic may not answer the question it intends but is a break through for others

If some journals are removed from indexing, it could impact your healthcare. You may think a journal on trans health, or a study looking at treatment effectiveness across different ethnicities doesn't affect you. But that study could also contain information on a control grp that might represent you

To put it in perspective, if your clinician has limited access to information then they don't have the whole picture to decide on the best care pathway for you. There's a reason we adopted systematic reviews as a way of comprehensively evaluating information. We found doing so saved lives

Mostly for my non library friends. One of the most used healthcare databases is run by the National Library of Medicine in the US. What information it indexes and how, effects the information clinicians in the NHS access. Very worrying that it is vulnerable to this kind of thing

As I'm running a 'social media for health libraries' half-day workshop today, I'd like to update my Health Libraries Starter Pack with anyone I've missed!

If YOU are a health library on bluesky and you're not one of the 38 on this list, let me know and I'll add you.

Been preparing for a 12pm meeting that's actually at 12.30pm so I've now psyched myself up too early. Guess a cup of tea is in order

Someone at work complimented my dress today. I responded 'pockets' and they nodded as if to say 'yes, this has elevated the dress considerably'. I was perfectly understood in the moment

I honestly have fomo already but I also know things could get complicated trying to schedule later on down the line. I'm also assuming you'll stick around for at least 6 seasons and a movie

1 year ago 2 0 0 0

I've played in a few seasons previously. I'm going to have to miss this one though as I don't think I can handle the scheduling over the next few months
