text : an alchemical wedding. ‪the sun and moon are hugely present in alchemical texts + art, often taking the form of a king and queen. they are also associated with the elements of sulphur and mercury: a union of opposites. here, they come together in a chemical wedding to create 'αλήθεια' - 'truth' - and the philosopher's stone - 'knowledge'. ‬ ‪the colours on these symbols are emblematic of the alchemical process: nigredo (blackening, decomposition, and the shadow); albedo (purification and division into opposite states); and rubedo (reddening, the merging of the selves)‬ coming from different worlds, melia and nia already contain magnum opus in part (as seen by the red in their robes). however - the missing segment from the moon and the dark upper side of the sun suggest that the process is incomplete - the absence of citrinitas (yellowing/ solar dawn). in xenoblade 3, the world's stasis could be said to be the absence of citrinitas.
