please stop asking this guy about the humanities. it's so embarrassing. my dude have you never heard of landscape painting 🤦♀️
Some commentator I listened to recently said that Bibi manipulated Trump to do his bidding and that appears to be exactly what happened. He’s so easily led 🤦🏻♀️
Reading this bit by bit between emails today. Leaky cabinet + fantastic reporting, both shocking and unsurprising:
How Trump Took the U.S. to War With Iran www.nytimes.com/2026/04/07/u...
it was an easy one but i'll take the win
an auspicious beginning to the day

in light of current events, I recommend this series from @iwriteok.bsky.social BtB feat. the brilliant Margaret Killjoy
takeaway: bombing an enemy to hell is not a real-world strategy. it's a theory, and it's been disproven repeatedly and significantly i.e. the blitz, etc

What was normalized in Gaza will have lasting effects on the entire world. It was a signal to the worst of humanity that they can get away with even livestreamed genocide. And we see that very genocide expanding today, and Trump joining in not under cover like Biden, but front & center.
I cannot say enough good things about independent Iranian cinema. It's the pinnacle of the art form. Personal, universal, political, emotional, uplifting, heartbreaking, experimental. These are dedicated humanistic artists in a world that wants to dehumanize them - their gov't and ours 📽️
HIT THE ROAD (2021) available free with your library card on Kanopy @kanopy.com A road movie & a deeply humanistic look at an Iranian family in transition - plot/structure/mood-wise it's comparable to Little Miss Sunshine 📽️ will be featured in an upcoming movie club
How’s the DOW today???
That would only make it longer 😭
I’m exhausted today, just did chores & worked some OT. Would love to go see a movie at my local theater. Oh look, a well-reviewed PG13 scifi movie just opened! How long is it? TWO HOURS & THIRTY-SIX MINUTES 🙄😭 I really do miss going to the movies but who has this kind of time 📽️
Twin Cinema Movie Club April 2026 - Special Edition: TRIPLE Cinema!
There are 3 PKD movies by 3 great directors on Kanopy rn so let's melt our brains & binge 'em all
Why does PKD's reality-bending, identity-blurring writing lend itself so well - or at least so often - to film?

Bigfoot sightings in Portage County and a meteor in Cleveland. Dang, this guerilla marketing campaign for Ryan Coogler’s X-Files reboot is crushing it so far
#oscars No losers tonight. Film fans were the winners. Absolutely stacked year. Big theatrical films, independent personal films, weird films, political films, women and POC awarded for great work. I saw and liked most of the nominees (which is rare for me 🤓). The medium is still thriving! 📽️
#oscars I also saw Fruitvale Station in the theater when it came out and it knocked the wind out of me. I’ve seen so many movies I’ve forgotten but I still remember vividly walking out of the theater after that one. Coogler has been a master since the beginning
Part of the rationale for Chalamet for Best Actor was to recognize the rare movie star who can draw young people to theaters and get projects made and…they awarded someone who does exactly that
#oscars I saw OBAA opening day, first screening, in XD, w a giant popcorn, on my birthday. I had an absolute blast and thought “that’s a lock for best picture.” Tense, exciting, funny, weird, with a surprisingly sincere & relevant political POV. It has so much of what I like about film 📽️
#oscars been a Jessie Buckley-head since Chernobyl 👸
14 nominations before he finally won! He’s on the level of the Coens in my book, and better than Tarantino. And this is both his most political and most conventionally entertaining film. Pleased w this director win, even tho it’s not what everyone wanted
#oscars so proud of MBJ. It’s so nice to see someone win who it really means something to
#oscars I know people will be upset and I understand why. Outside of the context of this year’s competition, though, PTA is one of the great American indie directors who makes weird, artful, iconic films. I really like his films and I really really liked OBAA
