As a random listener, I’m wishing you the best for your procedure & recovery! It makes me SO sad to hear how hard it was for you to get diagnosed, and so proud of you for advocating for the rest of us to advocate for ourselves.

Just buffooning his way to the end, pulling people aside and frantically asking “have you wondered if FERGUS is the traitor?”
It’s wild to have two cats and have one of them be just so much more dumb.
Truly incredible how obvious it is which is which
Also honestly at this age for me I was obsessed with teen resistance sci-fi (lol): Animorphs, Tomorrow When the War Began OR the famous medieval fantasy YA books (Tamora Pierce or the Abhorsen series), so I definitely skewed way more self-serious
Jasper Fforde’s Shades of Grey & Red Side Story are quite funny (although not really in the dragon side of the sci-fi / fantasy spectrum). The Illuminae Files can be funny & sad, but also a REALLY cool physical reading experience!
sobbing at the final episode of Somebody Somewhere
OP is wearing a grey hand knit cardigan that’s partially completed
She still needs buttons, but my handknit TTPD cardigan is looking ✨so good✨
Will also say The Hunter is genuinely funny at points and I continue to love the hyper-specific small town biting banter in this new series
#70 in 2024: Tana French’s The Hunter. This is a *slow* (slow) burn - she’s an absolute master of atmosphere, and it’s really satisfying as it all comes together near the end of the book, but this finally tipped over the line for me in vibes:plot ratio compared to her previous work. 4/5!

I *loved* this - it’s silly & lighthearted but has some smart things to say about evil billionaires snuck in amongst the talking cats and volcano lairs. Amidst the *gesticulates wildly* horrors, I needed this this week
