Palantir effectively declared war against the global majority. Eugenics, genocide and racial caste are clearly at the heart of its ideological project. AI and mass surveillance are merely the weapons to materialize its project against humanity

Only a few years ago I remember how popular it was in some circles to dump on people who would type their notes instead of write them by hand, because it was allegedly less effective as a process for learning and remembering. Given this, it's amazing to me how many people use auto-note things.
I think you could have orbital mechanics even when things are mostly acting on a plane. I agree with the thesis, though, that (sub-)genre is often interchangeable. "Star Wars: Outlaws" was a good game perhaps most prominently because it could just well have been a Firefly licence.
Except the one where his pattern indicates two dimensional thinking
I was there for the rise of the internet and smart phones, and they absolutely sold themselves. People took one look and got excited. There was no point, years into the smart phone, where companies were having to be like "you may not like the iPhone but it's here to stay so get used to it"
Also I blame other people for making it seem like this was a recent post
I feel like much of the structure of a good undergraduate degree is a whirlwind tour of the field in which the car is moving too fast to give you anything but the sense that there are whole suburbs out there you could locate on a map later as required.
Getting the Inergen recharged is pretty expensive as I recall

I’ve thought about this a lot over the last few years, and I think the best response is to stop.

It should honestly be very simple: is it trained on copyrighted material? Done. Thats it. It’s illegal. There are no other arguments to be made. There’s all sorts of other arguments we can make after that, but until they fix that then it doesn’t matter. It’s illegal. They should be in jail.
It's also not lost on me that I'm doing exactly what I just described.
I feel like steaming hot take dumpery is also easy to fit into a skeet, and is legible enough through the parasocial mirror we're all staring into so readers can get a tiny rise, push "like" on it, keep scrolling, and keep encouraging people. The medium doesn't exactly discourage vapid shouting.
google translate informing me that pagliacci is italian for "clowns"
what the actual fuck
why did Nancy Reagan lie to us
It does really feel like there should be an ISBN style identifier for each recording, and some URI scheme that everything would be able to interpret in a uniform way
To be honest I only appreciate the film on any level because I subsequently read the book, which as I recall actually contained a narrative about what was going on.
I feel like being 40 is the act of reading this tweet and chiefly wondering if I should have been getting regular skin checks and nobody to me
Locked-in culture is a term coined online to describe doing one thing at a time. When the norm has become to watch a movie while scrolling your phone, locking in refers to a new counter act. "[Locked-in culture is like] going for a 'naked walk', which is a walk without headphones, or getting in the car and trying to find your way without using maps," Mr Stuart said. He said the raw dogging movement was led by a centre-right demographic online, with young white men chasing a traditional hardened version of masculinity.
Well this is 20 minutes and several increasingly horrified web searches I'll never get back!

Screenshot of tweet from Joshua M. Clulow (@jmclulow): The Alice's Restaurant Garbage Pile Principle, as often applies to software engineering: At the bottom of the cliff was another pile of garbage, and we decided that one big pile is better than two little piles, and rather than bring that one up we decided to throw ours down. 4:36 AM · Jan 24, 2021
Was reminded of tweeting this in the before times by a colleague, who pointed out that Smalltalk also contains delightful Alice's Restaurant references: news.squeak.org/2014/04/29/i...

Instead of asking chatgpt, why not ask a librarian? You'll get real answers and they won't tell you to kill yourself.

I pre-ordered the magnetic clicks one last year sometime, I think. I hope one day for it to arrive!

Anything that requires you to type a password or other details should have one of these. So much better than on-screen keyboards. I wish I could jam this thing into my Android phone.
Yeah it is, amazingly, summarising the document in which Hopper's name appears directly right near the text.
