Oh I’m not saying that there aren’t great games that aren’t rougelike. I played the demo for Grimshire and I so excited for it to leave early acces. I just get a little disappointed when I see a game that looks cool only to find out it’s a rougelike.

The wording is insulting, as it not only maintains the false allegation that a video criticizing a gambling site counts as "promoting" gambling, it suggests my work was a threat to online safety, that YT's actions are noble despite how comprehensively they protect abusers. It's a pretty abusive statement itself, certainly a projecting one.

It didn't dawn on me until later just how fucking *nasty* the wording of the appeal rejection is.

"It's important that we keep the YouTube community protected."

Framing it as protecting people from my work, as if I'M the dangerous one, is a vile insult on top of being just plain hypocritical.

This is absolute madness.

No. We need less private landlords, ideally none.

I’m not saying that his reviews should just be ignored I think there is value in a review from someone who is open about how they aren’t good at games. I was just pointing out that some people talk about games journalists as if they are all at his skill level.

For cuphead my problem isn’t just that he’s playing poorly it’s that he kept ignoring the tutorial prompts and kept failing because he refused to do so. Also that Doom Eternal gameplay was really really bad like he kept only aiming or moving one at a time instead of doing it simultaneously.

I think part of it is that there are a couple people like Dean Takahashi (cuphead tutorial guy who also sucks at Doom Eternal)that people point to as the average when he is an outlier.

I don't know if it's a contradiction exactly, way too many people will put up with all kinds of things as long as it hurts someone else in the process, but wouldn't lift a finger to help their community. There's people who'd crawl through broken glass on their bellies to spit on someone's shoes.

one thing you see people say a lot is "republicans don't want to vote for a diet republican" whenever a dem does shit to try to appeal to them, which is true. what often goes unsaid is the other part of that, which is that most democrats also do not *want* to vote for a diet republican either
