Cinematographer Matthew Lewis describes using VFX to create glass in a window a camera was passed through.

The moment the camera goes through a window in Adolescence for me was the biggest jaw dropper of episode 2, eventually I realised it had to be VFX glass, it was so brilliantly audacious. Variety interview confirms it.
