I think Splatoon is fundamentally misunderstood by some. They have primarily been single-player games to me. I only dabble in the multiplayer, but I feel I get my money's worth every time. They have the level design you expect from Nintendo platformers, great characters, catchy music. All you need.

Splatoon 3's campaign is some of the best single-player content Nintendo made on Switch. And Octo Expansion. All killer no filler.
It's a bit sad to hear people say they're finally interested in trying Splatoon because it's single-player focused. It's had quality single-player this entire time.
Considering trying out Yooka-Replaylee. Heard mixed things but mostly good
Don't sleep on the single player campaigns even in mainline Splatoon games. They're solid
Two Nintendo releases in July and still nothing for June. I see you, Ninty
The code Capcom has cracked is that they realized AAA games don't need to be 50 hours long. You can make great 12-hour games at a frequent pace and people will buy them.
On this day, 4/20, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Path of Radiance, and Shadows of Valentia released.
Also it's Lucina's birthday.
it's sooo endearing. every game ive played that people have called a dad game is always, like, "having a child is a burden unlike no other and these challenges teaches me they are human just like me"
pragmata is nonstop "oh a kid is an endless font of surprises, new experiences, and joy"
At least it's not drums
I don't see Ichiban before Kiryu, otherwise a lot of these seem pretty likely
I have a take
I don't care how good the game is, video games are too diverse for one game to win every award
Ditto front and center is clever
One of the most overlooked victories in the last few years is getting all these games localized with physical releases. A far cry from the 3DS where even the ones that did get localized were digital-only and eventually delisted
Will Star Fox be in this one
I had Scare Island on PS1. Banger
Many outlets still consider Mario 3 and World the peak of 2D Mario, consistently topping lists. But how accurate is that actually? People who grew up on NSMB games are now adults, and anecdotally many prefer them to the classics. It may sound insane to older online communities, but is it less valid?
Ryu Hayabusa
I bet at least one important person at Koei Tecmo was pissed when Capcom, Sega, Bandai Namco, and Konami all got multiple Smash characters while they didn't get a single one
Nintendo devs while the industry is imploding: "We spent a decade making this funny Mii game and it was amazing"
Pretty wild how both Animal Crossing and Pikmin released in 2001. Maybe not a good time for their home console business, but a great time for creativity
It's refreshing to see love for this. It's definitely a game where the number of haters is higher than the number of people who actually gave it a shot lol

Rhythm Heaven Groove will be huge. Megamix released in 2015 as an afterthought by Nintendo. Digital-only in NA when digital wasn't big. Since then, RH parodies have blown up online. Groove is releasing at a budget price with a Switch 1+2 base of nearly 200 million. Stars have aligned perfectly
I didn't expect or plan this, but currently at my second Mario Galaxy Movie viewing. Ready to get hyped for Fox all over again
Rhythm Heaven Groose
9 years in, the Switch is still getting new entries in first-party series it never had (Tomodachi, Rhythm Heaven). Unmatched library honestly
