Writing from first-person view. Sometimes it takes the deepest betrayal and hurt as a wake up call to make changes and heal. Then it’s a V2.0 sub like Colin, still sub in heart, but with boundaries. One of mine now is - if my house is a mess, I’m not gonna clean anyone else’s bathroom til mine done.

It’s like the top/bottom shorthand in gay culture - a useful first-pass heuristic, not a full taxonomy. Not every gay fits into those boxes, such as sides; also many are vers on a spectrum. But it’s still the first framework people reach for in most cases, and then we dig deeper for nuance.
