Man. I knew the Chavez-DeRemer stuff was bad, but I didn’t realize it was pimping young female staffers out to her husband and *dad* bad. (I’m exaggerating, but only just.)

I feel like not enough reviewers know they had to remake the entire final third of the Michael Jackson movie because it falsely exonerated him, and it turned out the kid’s lawyer foresaw that shit in the 1990s and made sure to include a clause that the estate could never ever do that on film.
i love living in the first village of an rpg man. friendly neighbors, music is chill af, we even got that one kid we adopted into the village of whom the ancient prophecy was written about. anyway there’s a big ceremony tomorrow can't wait to still be alive after it
sometimes I think fondly of how we could have had chaos with Ed Miliband but the British press thought he ate a sandwich wrong.
(this was in response to Dredd's age being consistent, unlike most characters who get rebooted)
'Israel forms well-thought out alliance with anti-semites' has been a lot of Bibi's foreign policy.
winnie the pooh getting hammered and waking up the next morning wearing pants
Oh so you want to defund the police? I cannot believe the gall. These brave and women put their lives on the line for you every single day. Well not you specifically, or that democrat lady, or those schoolchildren.
Hellblazer kept Constantine’s birthdate consistent all the way through its initial 20 year run
I dunno, I simply would not have someone who was cheering on Oct 7 the morning after host a book event about Jewish history myself.
this piece also shows how Chinese espionage/coercion overseas is a combination of very large and frequently incompetent.
this is so profoundly dishonorable
"Do you have a favorable or unfavorable view of Hasan Piker?"
Unfavorable: 15%
Favorable: 7%
Never Heard Of/Have No Opinion: 79%

flipping through a proof of yet another book from a somewhat well known liberal voice diagnosing “where the left went wrong” and i’m struck, again, by the fact that a large part (if not most) of the liberal commentariat simply does not believe that the political right has agency.
First saw this story over on Threads, and people really, really, really did not like anyone correcting misinformation about their misreading of the story. We seem to be moving to some sort of post-reality where people just want fake stories that reinforce their beliefs.
writers live in Brooklyn and write what they know
Paulie will be played by Tony Sirico's real life brother/excellent wtf wikipedia entrant Robert Sirico
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_...
reintroducing the Sopranos as a branching multiverse in which Tony is dead in one and not dead* in another - but when Paulie discovers a way to travel through the spirit world between dimensions, hilarity ensues!
*AI James Gandolfini.
multiverses can work as isolated alternates or one-shots, they are a terrible idea to introduce to a franchise because they come to dominate the franchise
I like both games a lot so this is fine imo! I think that DE is actually substantially deeper than its fanbase realizes, but the fanbase is absolutely guys who watch video essays the same way that the WH40K fanbase is made up of either unironic fascists or tankies
honestly it would have been so easy to recast Kang story-wise that I have to think they were already having doubts about his viability as a main villain even before the Majors shit.
The main Democratic strategy for the next 6 months needs to be to let Trump be the main character. Resist allowing Gavin Newsom or Graham Platner or Hasan Piker or whomever from being placed in that role. The election needs to be a referendum on the least popular president of the century
holding steady, but still a big poacher target in large part because of traditional Chinese medicine demand.
coincidentally we have a piece that talks about how successful African conservation has been coming up this weekend
This is not just theoretical. The inability to say this truth speaks to a kind of obeisance to a would-be tyrant that poses a real and ongoing threat to constitutional government and makes one unfit for public trust.
if you want to read about the election violence may I suggest

by my second-oldest friend! (since we were like six months old)
this is a very dark accidental joke about foreign news priorities about Africa
Remember when someone On Here tried to make “emploid” a slur for having a job
he's a sociologist.
