not yet and i wonโt be really back in the data before this week but iโll get to the bottom of it!

oof map type is going to complicate lexicon-unaware canonical-link-source defining, or i guess just make it a small step worse
(i accept that people want this instead of arrays but)
a chart showing non-bluesky atproto apps gaining popularity in recent months
I have something to add to the Wretched Topic discourse: non-bsky apps are growing in popularity
hmm. UFOs statistics canโt really be used to trace anything like a user journey, just per-collection nsid statistics down to hourly granularity. user ids get hashed on their way into the hyperloglog.
it can show eg. bsky follows specifically though, for looking at high level correlations
@anew.social is doing amazing work here with @ap.brid.gy and more
The week that included atmosphereconf was the first time breaking 100 (non-bluesky) lexicon groups with >10 active users in a week! There are a lot of atmosphere apps and people *are using them*.
data: UFOs. (I'll get an interactive version of these charts on the site eventually)
Since bluesky charts are going around again, here's some about non-bluesky atproto activity that I had buried in the middle of my talk.
1. Users: 2025 slowed, then recent growth. the atmosphere is *small*. it's *early*.
2,3. Development activity: constant steady growth
user growth follows dev
My reflections on an amazing atmosphereconf
On how the atmosphere can be understood as a subculture, what the holdfast is, and what We Can Just Do Things means

gotcha, i think ext4 is supposed to do ok here
putting `RUST_LOG=lsm_tree=debug` in front of your command (or as an env variable) might get some more info out from fjall
@fjallrs.bsky.social idk if the error there hints at anything (or if corruption after power loss is expected)
(ufos keeps a number of recent incremental filesystem snapshots just in case one gets a bad state, but i havenโt needed that yet)
hmm in general i think a power cut isnโt supposed to be able to corrupt a db either (but i might be incorrect)
what filesystem are you using?
are you pointing multiple domains to the same PDS? i think thatโs generally discouraged
i think they get treated as different domains
new PDSls backlinks page
you can now directly link to a group: pds.ls/at://did:plc...
np! and i think we probably agree about client app-side data handling :)
hmm, iโm not sure i follow. the context of the post is explicitly server-side atproto data sync, maybe that wasnโt clear. all the existing sync utilities are about the same as rolling your own in terms of where the data lives (have to be self-hosted)
but i might be missing what you meant
fwiw, i do a periodic filesystem-level snapshot (btrfs) for ufos (fjall) and then resync that to the nas, for online-ish backups
im not sure how unsafe this is, but it has worked every time iโve restored from it
Okay "Leaflet PRO(se)" isn't *official*, but gets at something important โ we're building for writers!
The whole publishing process should be fun & easy; tools shouldn't get in your way
From instant drafts at leaflet.pub/new to free custom domains, we aim to add delight & remove obstacles โจ
As promised, here's a quick write up of how my eink badge from @pimoroni.com that I wore at #AtmosphereConf worked.
omg ahaha thatโs uh, not how it looked when i was writing!! hmm. paging @leaflet.pub
(the footnotes were at the end of the article in the view i had, didnโt change any theme defaults since footnotes were added (yay footnotes!))
thanks Paul! i was a little unsure if i was hitting the mark on this one (too much assumed vs overexplained) so this is very nice to hear :)

The Official Announcement โข๏ธ
i'm super stoked about this. big thanks to everyone involved!
if you want a say in the long term design of atproto, this is the place! hop in the mailing list and start participating. we'll be sending some messages in there soon

Published it!
Shorter version of this post is just this:
Pleased to announce that an Authenticated Transfer Protocol (ATP) working group has been created at the IETF!
Grateful to everybody who participated in the BoF and chartering process. Details on next steps and how to get involved inside.
