Finally back from camping trip… was freaking exhausting but fun! Brought some straw flowers back to dry the and maybe make something out of them later 🤔

HOW?????? DO YOU DRAW (fetishized) BIG MEN BELLIES???** Applying Anatomic Structure to Fetishized Drawings (& Stuff). Simple Shapes Breakdown: 1) Ribcage + Pelvis Shapes 2) Inbetween Torso Lines 3) Belly * "Fetishized" as to say that this is not a tutorial about accurate anatomy. It's moreso a demo of things I personally like to consider as i'm drawing big guys.

Working with Simple Shapes Full Deconstruction Of A Sketch. No matter how thin or fat you are, you are at complete mercy of the skeleton within you that controls your every move. This skeleton happens to be a great reference when drawing. Even for fat bodies. In particular, I will always start with a simplified version of the pelvis & ribcage. Even basic knowledge of these two shapes will improve your game, because the gut is really just occupying that inbetween space. Once you have the shapes down, it's easy to add details. 1) Original Sketch 2) Construction & Skeleton 3) Basic Construction w/ Gut 4) Basic Construction w/o Gut

Further Analysis Breakdown of (Comparatively) Complex Illustrations. Average lame dumb human proportions. Funny big man proportions. » Wide ribcages & pelvises » Long torsos » I like smaller than avg. thighs / legs but you do you (++) Pay attention to how the pelvis shape ( overall width + depth + "wings") helps form the shape of the lower gut.

Application How do I consider all these ideas when drawing? 1) Super Rough Sketch » Just getting the idea down » Not very worried about perspective or anatomy at this point, but the basic shapes are definitely here 2) Refined Sketch » Go back & re-evaluate overall construction (pelvis, ribs, etc.). Main idea of this whole tutorial » Make sure everything works in perspective 3) Final Sketch Could I have drawn this without all the const- ruction? Probably. But above all else, structure gives you condfi- dence in knowing that the decisions you make in placing each line are well-calculated. And art that is well calculated is often most believable.
