After some additional testing, last night's layout has been re-modeled to allow the outer loop to run uninterrupted. My F7A apparently does not like running through open switches, so this setup solves that issue. Also, I brought out the SW9 to see how the layout held up to two engines. No issues!

First idea: oval with a circle in the middle. A neat idea but it doesn't allow for two trains to run at once.

2nd try: an oval with a circular loop inside, but now with a bypass to allow the train on the circle to not interfere with the outer loop.

3rd try: same as the 2nd try but I made everything BIGGER and I added a road crossing on the backside of the oval.

Final result: now with two switches (with nickel-silver track) on the backstretch to create two sidings to store cars in. Each siding ends with a buffer illuminated by a simple red bulb.

You can see my thoughts process from the initial layout, inspired by old Ives Trains catalogs from the late 1900s, to the evolved final result. There's enough variety here to entertain myself with continuous running and switching at the same time.

I got silly yesterday and spent 3 hours hand-polishing all these pieces of 25-year old steel track to make this layout...and it was worth it! This setup allows for switching and two loops for continuous running. I might leave this layout out for a new nights just to test it some more.

Surprise! This year's train is powered and it has a working light! For an old AHM product, it still has a lot of torque left in it. There's one last thing I'm saving for AC, but y'all will have to wait until then! See y'all at AC and please draw, or write, on this train for charity! <3

A FP45 diesel-electric locomotive, a tank car, a covered hopper car, an open hopper car, a wooden reefer car, a flat car, an all-door lumber boxcar, and a bay window caboose. All of them are painted white and the caboose already has graffiti on it. These will be at AnthroCon and are meant to be drawn on for charity.

After months of collecting, fixing, upgrading, and painting... my art train project "Rolling Canvas II" is ready for this year's #AnthroCon charity auction! Yes, oh, hell yes~!

It turns out I did have another one of my trains on video! Here's my annoyingly loud (awesome) SD70 pulling a shorter consist while a steam engine with a diesel helper pass by.

I ran a variety of Conrail on Saturday but my only videoed train was a morning variety of Conrail cars, pulled by my trusty SD50s wearing their later Conrail Quality paint scheme. The crane and bicentennial car was added on for fun, and it honestly made more people smile as they rolled past!

A bit belated but, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Conrail's beginning, here's a photoshoot of a good portion of my Conrail collection posed at the club's diesel maintenance shop. ...Also a giant RC gauge one Thomas was summoned from the high concentration of blue locomotives.

God, you know how to draw her so well, especially when engorged~! I think she's capable of handling a lot more than that. x3

I guess, in order to avoid making a mess and attracting ants, maybe make a containment bin for the peep and then have said bin suspended in a Schnabel car?

I wish I could have a layout at home, but I joined a semi-local model train club instead! Unfortunately, I got carried away and I bought a lot of trains that take up space at home. XD
