I like ethnic foods and so I buy various ingredients to see what I can do. It helps that I obsessively buy cookbooks and it gives me ideas.

That sometimes happens when I create recipes in my head.
As I was cleaning up I realized that I left out a key ingredients that I had planned on incorporating into the braise. I had envisioned having some prunes in the braise. Oh well, next time.
Braised pork with orange, rosemary, whole garlic gloves and red wine over egg noodles. 🍜🍽️
Right now I’m raising boneless pork ribs that I’ve cut into large pieces into a stew and I seared the meat and sautéed my onions. The garlic cloves I peeled and left them whole but uncolored and they’re being braised with tomatoes, rosemary, red wine, and a little bit of soy sauce with the meat.
I love whole garlic in a braise, and how it mellows.

Making a pork stew with oranges, rosemary, tomatoes, red wine, and garlic. I needed to peel four heads of garlic, so I poured hot water over the cloves to soften the skins. 🍜🍽️
