A family of Ravens is putting the goth back in gothic at NYC's largest cathedral--St John the Divine. There are five mouths to feed, so the parents are staying busy! ⛪️⛪️⛪️ #Ravens #Cathedral #birding

Loughcrew Cairns is a passage tomb cemetery located near the village of Oldcastle in County Meath. The most striking features of the #archaeological landscape of Loughcrew are the three large cairns that dominate the summit of three steep hills. #Ireland #Archaeology
An aerial view of Creevykeel Court Tomb it features a large wedge shaped drystone structure with a oval shaped 'court' on the left, leading to two small burial chambers.
In today's edition of our #MonumentMonday newsletter, we take a trip to Sligo to visit Creevykeel, one of Ireland's best examples of a Court Tomb.

Every couple of months, I have a new/different idea for the kind of business I want to start in Japan to get residency. Current obsession is a conversation cafe. People come in and practice speaking their second, third, etc language with native/fluent speakers. And there will be a cat.
The Shrine of the Miosach on display in the National Museum of Ireland
Shrine of the Miosach • 11-12th century (with later modifications)
This book shrine is made from yew covered in metal plates. The manuscript which it contained has sadly been lost.
It is thought to date from around 1100, but it was repaired and modified in the 16th century.

This is the Gunny Hill which in South Dublin County Councils own words is part of a ‘substandard rural road network’ yet they plan on pushing over 300K visitors a year up it incl. running buses every 15mins for a €40M vanity project! #RoadSafety #Review #Traffic

Just in: it’s called a “Field” camera, but that’s only a name, you can also use it in a meadow, a glade, or a valley (please note by international agreement it is illegal to use this type of camera on a hill or within 100m of a Fjord, punishable by a period of imprisonment of no less than 60 days)
€40M of public funds for an oversized visitor centre.
No road safety audit.
Pushing 300k+ visitors on substandard, narrow rural roads.
32,500 people have already said NO.
This project needs a serious review.

A small stone bridge in the shadow of Muckish Mountain in Glenveagh National Park, County Donegal
This is the Bridge of Tears in County Donegal
This small bridge provides a harsh and tragic counterpoint to the grandeur of the nearby Glenveagh Castle.
It was here where many took their farewells from their families before crossing the bridge as a first step towards emigration.

RIP Maire Brennan of Clannad fame. I’ll never forget arriving at our holiday cottage in Donegal in 2014 & the owner dropped in to say she couldn’t get to the Clannad family do in a nearby pub & would we like the tickets. We were sat just metres from the family playing live 😮 youtu.be/KsSsb_bxmMk?...
A sea of English Bluebells
English Bluebell colonies are an indication of Ancient English Woodland like ours, and which may have had trees on the land since the end of the last Ice Age

Goodnight.
‘And all the lonelier stars that have their place,
Calm lamps within the distant southern sky,
And planet-dust upon the edge of space,
Look down upon the fretful world, and I
Look up to outer vastness unafraid
And see the stars which sang when earth was made.’ ~ Marjorie Pickthall
