Getting back to my trees 😁

What a stunning start to the week, minutes before sunrise on the Norfolk coast.
Grim but essential reading. ‘after four years of sewage sludge spreading, microplastic levels in the fields it tested rose by up to 1,450%…’ with ‘little reduction in the soil of microplastics dumped 22 years ago: once they arrive, they don’t leave.’

Precisely! If we could have got help earlier on, I really think we wouldn't be in the position we are now. Unfortunately it just wasn't there. It makes me so angry.
It took me over 3 years to even get an autism/mental health assessment for my son, yet alone treatment! During that time he stopped leaving the house. Maybe sort that out, rather than hitting what little help we've had.
UK Chancellor urged not to make PIP cuts that could plunge 700,000 households into poverty.
It is war on the poor, not causes of poverty.
Median annual pre-tax wage £29,604.

Lack of healthcare, disabling many
Choosing to take money from disabled benefit claimants rather than levy a wealth tax is simply immoral 👇
Austerity is a political choice.
UK govt gave £70.6bn tax relief on pension contributions.
63% went to 6m 40%/45% tax rate payers.
37% to 28.1m basic rate taxpayers.
By fixing the relief at 20% for all Govt can reduce inequalities and have £14.5bn spare.
End tax perks of the rich.
I recently spoke in Parliament against the scapegoating of disabled people.
Now there are rumours of more devastating cuts that will drive hundreds of thousands into poverty.
Enough! It's time to target the super-rich who benefit from our rigged economy, not the vulnerable.

Why is it that "tough choices" are always about harming the poor and disabled, and never about making the very wealthiest pay their fair share?

Companies can dodge tax with zero consequences. Billions go missing every year. Fixing it would be EASY. Instead, the government target the vulnerable. The real problem with benefits? Underclaiming, not fraud.

Thank you! 🙂
The government continues to pursue benefit fraud while ignoring tax fraud.
Yet tax fraud is far larger.
Why is tax fraud being ignored?
@richardjmurphy.bsky.social examines the issue.
I saw one yesterday 😍

Israel is starving Palestinians in Gaza because Israel has broken the Ceasefire treaty and refused to start withdrawing their troops from Gaza.
Blocking Humanitarian Aid and starving people is a War Crime, but you won't hear any of the Media reporting it.
