America, we are not broken glass that can be pieced back together with duct tape. We are dry, cracked earth waiting for rain…arguing about the clouds while the roots below us intertwine and become more powerful.

Do not accept the unacceptable.

We are tired in a way sleep cannot fix. We are divided in a way maps cannot explain. Still, the country breathes (albeit unevenly). The world watches in horror.

In a cold home, a family fears they will never see each other again after the gestapo break down their doors to eradicate their very existence.
The dream….is dead.

Across the land of the free…a child memorizes lockdown drills while remembering their aunt/uncle who was lost to a school shooting 12 years earlier. Somewhere, a worker counts coins at midnight, wondering when survival became a full-time job.

A candle cupped by shaking hands, reflecting tears in the flame that flickers every time the wind says “this is just the way things are”.

No. Unacceptable.

Breaking: America.

We argue over history like it’s a rumor, over bodies like they’re numbers, over rights like they’re favors that can be revoked with the stroke of a pen..or the quick brandishing of a state sponsored weapon.

From pioneering rendezvous techniques to guiding a doomed mission home, his contributions were as scientific as they were inspirational. Though he never walked on the moon, his leadership in adversity made him a hero to the nation…and to all who dare to look skyward. Ad Astra, Jim and thank you. 🫡🚀

Overall, Lovell logged 715 hours in space (nearly 30 days) a world record that stood until the Skylab missions of the mid-1970s.

Jim Lovell embodied the courage, ingenuity, and hope of the early space era.

Houston, we’ve had a problem.”
These iconic words, uttered during the Apollo 13 crisis, became part of space lore, but it was Jim’s extraordinary composure and leadership that truly guided his crew home against all odds.

Incredibly saddened about the recent loss of a huge pioneer in space exploration: Jim Lovell

Me in bed dissociating from everything going on by watching rug cleaning videos with machines called “R2-Clean2”, “Lu-squeegee”, and “Dirt Reynolds”.

Ever just need a break from it all?
I took a break and actually busted out my old canon and telephoto lens, went outside, looked up and admired this beauty tonight.

I haven’t taken a moon photo with this lens in years.
Kinda miss it.

Paid specialty copay just to be told exact same thing my PCP told me 2 days earlier.

Conclusion:
Over $300 for 2 different providers to tell me the same thing with no relief.

Called 12 different imaging places (including hospitals) who all had 1 of 2 answers: 1) did not take my insurance or 2) took my insurance but will not perform MRI due to bone stimulator placed in my back from a previous surgery.

Went to pain management, was told exact same thing primary told me.

Adventures in American healthcare with chronic illness:

Saw my PCP for bloodwork. Got abnormal results. Sent to Rheumatologist. Got more bloodwork ordered. Went back to PCP due to pain. MRI ordered and referred to go back to pain management.

Upon returning to the U.S., Baker found herself the target of discrimination and threw herself into fighting racism and injustice at home. Baker was one of two women speakers at the March on Washington in 1963, having spoke just before Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Josephine Baker's success as a Vaudeville dancer took her France, where she was lauded as one of the country's most popular performers. During World War II, Baker became a spy for the French resistance, passing on critical Nazi information to aid the war effort.

I love that a white guy was flying the plane, a white guy was flying the helicopter, and a white guy gutted the FAA last week but somehow the blame is too much diversity.

Please go outside and look at the moon and Venus. The cosmos (near and far) have a way of washing calmness over me. Hoping it can do the same for you if you’re having a rough time.

Mars, Jupiter and Venus look pretty stunning tonight. In the midst of this hateful rhetoric going on right now in this country, I have to look upwards to the starry night and admire our existence in this universe. Such a tiny part of the universe..

“At least 15 Indigenous people in Arizona and New Mexico have reported being stopped at their homes and workplaces, questioned or detained by federal law enforcement and asked to produce proof of citizenship during immigration raids since Wednesday, according to Navajo Nation officials.” 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
