VICTORY: We won a summary judgment in our case against the Trump Administration over threats to healthcare providers that provide gender-affirming care to youth. This is a win in our ongoing fight for bodily autonomy. I’ll continue fighting to ensure that gender-affirming care remains protected.
The jury’s verdict is a win for consumers and for the marketplace. I look forward to the next phase of this lawsuit, which will determine Live Nation’s financial penalties and other consumer remedies.
April is Alcohol Responsibility Month. Parents, this is a great time to talk to your kids about staying alcohol-free. Underage drinking is not a rite of passage, and conversations about alcohol can empower kids to say NO to underage drinking. Resources at Responsibilty.org can help you get started.
I remain steadfast in my commitment to defend the Constitution and safeguard your right to vote. Read more about our most recent lawsuit here: ago.vermont.gov/blog/2026/04...
The Constitution makes clear that states have the power to run their own elections, and it does not authorize the President to interfere in state election administration. I continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with Secretary of State Copeland Hanzas to protect free and fair elections in Vermont.
State AGs prevented the unconstitutional Birthright EO from taking effect. Now SCOTUS will consider its lawfulness. Our joint statement here: ago.vermont.gov/blog/2026/04...
Vermonters deserve to be protected from toxic pollutants, but the Trump Administration has abdicated the EPA’s responsibility to provide this protection. With today’s lawsuit, I’m standing up for human health, our environment, and the rule of law. Read more: ago.vermont.gov/blog/2026/03...
Imposing funding conditions on programs that feed the most vulnerable Americans is illegal and cruel. It also keeps with a theme of this Administration of violating the Constitution and federal law - regardless of the cost to Americans - to further the President’s extreme social agenda.

The Trump Administration’s weaponization of data to further its anti-DEI agenda burdens colleges and universities and puts student privacy at risk. It’s another illegal attempt to use a trusted governmental tool to further their political agenda, and we are going to court to stop it.
UPDATE: Vermont and a bipartisan group of states will continue litigating our case against Live Nation for monopolizing the ticketing market. Our case is strong, and our coalition is committed to holding the company accountable, protecting consumers, and restoring competition to the market.
Today I sued the Trump Administration to stop the latest round of illegal tariffs. Only Congress can levy taxes, not the President. This latest scheme is an attempt to circumvent SCOTUS’ recent ruling and the limitations on the President’s authority established by the Constitution and Congress.
This is a win for Vermont families and small businesses who have been impacted by rising costs caused by the President’s unlawful tariffs. This is also a win for the rule of law - the Court held that the President cannot usurp authority the Constitution vests in Congress.
Today the Supreme Court ruled in favor of our multistate coalition declaring President Trump’s broad tariffs unconstitutional. The Court held that IEEPA does not authorize the President to impose tariffs - a tax on Americans.

Again and again, the Trump Administration illegally terminated grants created by Congress in violation of our Constitution. President Trump wants to stifle renewable energy generation because he is living in the past.
Decisions to seek that care should be between a patient and their doctor. That’s why late last night, I sued to block enforcement of HHS’s unlawful “declaration” that attempts to limit access to gender-affirming care for young people. Read more here: ago.vermont.gov/blog/2025/12...
I will never stop fighting for our rights to control our own bodies, and that includes access to gender-affirming care for transgender youth. Contrary to what Secretary Kennedy claims, the major medical organizations agree that gender-affirming care is safe and effective.
The holidays may be here but that doesn’t mean we’re slowing down—yesterday I announced a settlement with Mercedes Benz over emissions fraud. I also filed my 39th lawsuit against the Trump Administration, this time to save the CFPB.

…and ordered them to continue processing applications under the terms that existed prior to its unlawful program changes. Vermont is experiencing an acute housing crisis, and this is an initial victory for the Vermonters who rely on these grants for access to stable housing.
