When I'm trying to do something complicated like a themed/roleplay colony rather than just optimal play, I'll often switch to Phoebe even if I'm playing on high difficulty just because she leaves so much more room between events, so that's what I'd recommend for learning at your own pace.

I recommend switching the storyteller. Cassandra Classic says it's the balanced one, but it is actually the hardest with the most consistent raid pressure. Both Pheobe and Randy are a lot more chilled out, so you usually have more room to do what you want.

Update: This isn't safe to do in Japanese/Russian/Chinese/Korean because ASCII characters are 1 byte each and deforming the strings in code is safe. Deforming non-ASCII characters leads to all kinds of problems and save corruption and stuff. :( I think I could install ICU or something to safely

I also added a thing that fucks up the text output if your character is drunk. I can sort of read it in Japanese but I am slightly worried it's too much in Chinese (if you can read Mandarin please let me know!)
