I believe I stole it from a checkers set

Catherine's Prototype "Bonus Hockey"... two cards are laid together to form the ice rink. A checker piece is in the space just left of center as the puck. There are two piles of custom dice, each face has a different hockey symbol like sticks or skates. There is a stack of cards representing the players. Hannah Bilka of the Seattle Torrent and Jennifer Gardiner of the Vancouver Goldeneyes are out. Beside each skater card is a goalie card.

*cracks knuckles* so which one of you wants to publish my overtime hockey game and get the license to the PWHL?

An important part of being a designer to me is giving back, playing other folks games , giving feedback... and I get worried I don’t do enough there because I'm not quite technical. But I try my best and people still want me to try their games!

Just because I make weird games does not mean I know anything about game design. I am just over here operating entirely on vibes.

I've gotta get back into playing these, my times now are probably just average haha

A simple cartoon-ish line drawn face. Each different fearure is a different color. A hexagon head, big blue ears, a red star nose, purple curved happy eyebrows, green long hair that floats a little over the head, a pink open mouth with a tongue.

At around 1am one night at Unpub, I got in a play of a new little drawing game I overhauled. And it was awesome and fun and now I'm only a little bit scared to see if it holds up in the light of day with not sleep-deprived gamers.

Yeah pitching is just kind of a skill I don’t feel like learning, and all the different things that surround it (like contracts, or creative control, etc).

I think too concerning "venues", the fact that I don't want my game to be published caused me a lot of stress last year in regard to Unpub because was I "taking" someone's space who did want to pursue publishing and livelihood.

As I like to say "I'm a game designer not a baseball player... I don’t pitch." I just like to make things and hang out with people and solve silly problems I make for myself.

My games are a "success" or "complete" when one person goes "this is my favorite game" or "I loved this so much."

I had a ton of imposter syndrome for the game jam, so we could've been imposters together, haha. I hope yours was awesome too!

I knew I was close; I keep the badges and have 8 now. But didn't realize it was actually the big 1-0.

Unpub always goes by so fast

It brings me some solace to know that whatever's happening down here, there are still some absolutely incredible human-made and human-driven robots wandering around Mars, looking at cool rocks and dirt and sending us pictures just because we're curious about planets and our own origins in the cosmos

But truly the Unpub community is always amazing, lifting each other up and helping each other. Such a great group of folks to be around for a couple of days.

I love going to Unpub because everyone tells me how good and cool and weird of a designer I am 🤪
