Here in the Lake District there are plenty of people who think taking down a stone wall is a good idea. Some want to get through it to camp in a field, some have it collapse under them (ouch!) and some want free rocks for their rockeries. The idiots I've witnessed doing this were all white.

An intentional camera movement (ICM) shot of bluebells, but actually two shots merged together, so even more movement. It's taken just after sunrise so there's the tiniest glimpse of sunrise light visible at the top right, and otherwise there's brown tree trunks, new bright green leaves, and a lovely purple from the flowers, with some green from their stalks visible below.

An ICM multiple exposure shot (two photos) of the #bluebells, taken just after sunrise on Sunday at my favourite woods - my entry for this week's #ShareMondays2026.

Indeed. Much sympathy.

Blimey, that's brutal. Oddly enough, when they closed down American Studies at Liverpool we were told it would lead to an improved curriculum too. There must be a training course they go on.

Yes, many old brewers--Timothy Taylor, Robinson's, Theakston's for example--have just kept going with it. I'm wondering if having a pub estate, rather than having to compete for bar space at the whim of fashion, is the key.

I watched The Matrix again this week, and of course the premise is that AI requires lots of power which means humans need to be farmed. For a film about Gen X workplace disillusionment and the nascent dot com boom it's surprisingly prescient.

The zine for Rebellion! is now available in my shop. It has 55 photos distilled down from 40,000 taken over the life of the project. I’m very pleased with the quality of the printing and hope you like it https://marcdavenant.com/product/rebellion-zine/

I'm very happy with mine. Those are lovely.

That makes no sense.

Artists who use AI can fight it out amongst themselves I reckon.

Oh yes, especially with that high pressure hose.

Six seats, so a practical family vehicle and I'm sure the 7m ladder will come in handy.

A horizontal, wide-angle photograph shows a medieval stone church and its graveyard, rendered with a vintage trichrome effect that produces surreal, shifting hues of pink, teal, and lime green. The church features a crenellated square tower with a clock, a long nave with arched windows, and a tiled roof. In the foreground, numerous weathered, irregular tombstones and a prominent stone cross rise from the green grass. Bare trees flank the building against a hazy, multicolored sky. A black border with colorful registration artifacts frames the image, emphasizing the experimental, multi-layered analog photographic process.

Here's my one and only image for #fp4party this time. Not made a #trichrome for a little while. Go big or go home?

That's a shame, but it seems to be all the rage just now. Obsidian is splendid enough without the tools.

Nursery day: Tuesday 12th May Our nursery days run from Dale Head, which is slightly further up the Duddon Valley from the Hardknott Forest car park. Tasks will include building...

We're now offering volunteer days at our new plant nursery. Help us grow trees & wildflowers to plant out in the valley. These days will be less physically demanding than our other volunteer days - but you will still enjoy fantastic views of the Duddon Valley.

The zine for Rebellion! is now with the printer. It has 56 pages and 55 photos in a mix of colour and monochrome, taken over 12 years. I’ve been really impressed with the quality of the proofs so hope it goes down well. It will be available in my shop from next week at a very reasonable price.

I'm not sure where you are going with all these different points ("government regulators" lol), as it just comes down to basic--the most simple and basic--market economics: demand, supply, and price all tend towards equilibrium and the current price is the price the market can bear, tax or no tax.

1 week ago 2 0 1 0

It won't, or not for long anyway. They will raise the price by the amount of the tax cut. They can currently sell it all at this price, so why would they not?

1 week ago 0 0 2 0

Indeed, demand is probably only a little reduced for now--people are dependent so it takes a while to cut back--but there *is* a shortage of supply. The oil companies can evidently sell all they have at this pump price, so why would they charge less if demand remains the same?

Cutting fuel duty will only cause a temporary reduction because there is a shortage. The price will rise rapidly to meet demand. That's how supply and demand works.

That's rather a narrow view. Even the Sahara, the classic "sandy wasteland" desert, has hundreds of species of animals living in it.

You really need to mess around with toning cyanotypes. That would look excellent done with tea!
