YOU AND I #5: SACROSANCT #flashfiction
Incense and hot throw lead the charge upon me, the toll of the bell in quick pursuit. God demanded the breadth of my senses. I had a headache.

YOU AND I #4: WHAT IT MEANS TO CARE #flashfiction
my post: "weekend" comes from an 1860s misspelling of "weakened" as in "i'm weakened and going to take a nap." not many people know this merriam webster replies with an ellipses
chat is it good for a dictionary to be mad at you

followed this guide to remove the constant mentions of elon musk from my discover feed. i don't like him either, i just don't care to give him more space in my brain than he's already bought
They don't want to teach history so they can repeat it.
Not only does adding alt text to your artwork make it more accessible to audiences, but it does also make you more searchable! Bsky uses keywords in alt text in its search bases as well. So not only will you show up more, but more people will also be able to enjoy your work, b/c of alt text! Yay!
end neoliberalism's tyranny over our narratives
i'm tired of stories where a supposedly good ending is "status quo restored"
First: if it's "easier" to write relatable villains than relatable 'good guys,' that means something and should be considered as an independent question. *Why* have villains become so popular in recent decades? Because they reflect people's lived experiences within a broken system.
i watched #companion last night and while i thought its visual execution (shots, acting) was masterful,
the script seriously falls off in the latter half. why don't films trust their audience anymore? it's a shorter feature for 2025 and it still assumes i forgot its very blatant setups.
Another Library.
i'm opening up my world to you to say, "this is how my life is" under the assumption you will understand it too. because really there is no gold standard to the mundane
there's something vulnerable about the fact that i claim to write "normal things, when i'm unsure if i count as a normal person

seriously, i don't understand why i got so hung up on scrivenings mode. i can embed obsidian notes in whatever order i want to with just a few extra keystrokes. it doesn't need to be drag and drop, i can just use hotkeys to move the embedded lines up and down. LOL
once the first draft is done then i can port the writing into one of those other apps for fine-tuning the manuscript in order
but only once the first draft is done. right now there is no first draft and it just needs getting written.
obsidian is more than enough. it may not have scrivenings mode or manual revision snapshotting or any of the fancy frivolous shit i want from other applications
but i can write in it wherever i need to, it saves my work across devices, and i can format text in it — and that's all it needs to be
i spent ages trying to figure out how i wanted to set up my writing tools, only to remember that:
- none of these digital platforms for writing existed when most literature was written
- most people write in microsoft word anyway
- i'm trying to throw money at my book like that will write it for me
socially adjusted guy in the back: actually all you have to do on these apps is talk to people
me, opening discord: i've never talked to anyone in my life
microblogging's better for discussion, but my goals for life feel antithetical to arguing with strangers online
but bluesky's not like that... right
my goals for writing feel antithetical to microblogging
i want to be more decisive about what i put out into the world, and that's better suited for blogging platforms like medium and substack
White text on an orange background. Test reads: Learning my lessons. Yesterday, I made the mistake of reading the News section of the BBC website. I can't explain why – I'm old enough to know better, and past experience has shown that the chance of...
I've a new post up on my Substack. And now I'm off to cook tea. 😊

i will always roll my eyes at filipinos who put their elbows into lambasting diaspora for using the term "filipinx" — usually non-binary diaspora — while never lifting a finger to criticise the constant, prominent, LOCAL use of the terms 'filipina', 'cebuana', etc.
filipinos born and raised in the homeland regularly gatekeep diaspora from having any claim to filipino culture
filipinos live on an archipelago united only by a foreign, colonial will
we have to accept at some point that our identity IS synonymous with physical displacement and regional nuance
I love showing artists color systems outside of Isaac Newton's color wheel and them looking at it like a biblically accurate angel.
i drew this now infamous comic. im sorry to people who had to see it posted under anything butch related 🥲
but isn't it ridiculous? when i look at my friends, i'm not asking myself questions like "in a burning building who would i save first?" so why impose rank on romantic relationships? why focus on "most important", when all i care about is, well, just that — caring and being cared for? (2/2)
my most intrusive worry about being poly in a mononormative society: "everyone else will have someone that is more important to them than me." it compulses me to play into hierarchy out of insecurity. i start to feel like i'll sink if i'm not someone else's VIP. (1/2)
i'm going to read bell hooks' ALL ABOUT LOVE next. aiming to reinject some hope into my view of the sociopolitical world.
i may be single this february but i'm focused on exploring my relationship to love this month anyway. here's to learning... something.
