Its silly, why be cagey about it.

VW's history since the 90's has been that they think they're the world's best automaker, and when the US market says "we like this but we want reliability" (or non-cheating diesels) VW takes their ball and goes home.

One thing that's wild is VW has a fairly big fan-base left over from when their cars were cool and 'alt' in the mid 00's, but VW's support for 15 year old models is essentially nonexistent.

By contrast, you can walk into a Toyota dealer and still find a marker light for a 30 year old Tacoma.

Agree. And its reflective of food being expensive period, particularly on the bottom end.

A grocery store frozen burrito costs more per oz than Chipotle in 2026.

Fast food endlessly fascinates me so I follow the industry, but its crazy to have seen prices triple in 10 years and essentially leapfrog the next category up.

Not to be that guy but Chipotle is “fast casual” not fast food- an entire genre built in response to the stigmatization of fast food.

But holy shit you wanna talk about price spiking step inside a fast food joint these days. A combo at Jack in the Box will run you more than a Chipotle burrito.

And I get they had to copy a bunch of homework to start, but it's time to start pruning the stuff that doesn't work* and nailing the UX on stuff that does.

*good examples include the poorly conceived lists and block functions

The big thing this site needs is a coherent vision in terms of what it is going to be.

Right now it’s sort of a grab bag of features that don’t coherently gel.

Its a new platform. Twitter took like 5 years to figure it out.

The pre-furry-migration population was full of terminally online nut jobs who were too stupid to do Mastadon but too insufferable for Threads.

probably a red flag they’re also going to play fast and loose with government benefits as well.

one thing NY and CO are way ahead of the rest of the country on is requiring job listings to post salary ranges. like this should just be the requirement everywhere.

Ours wasted time. Doesn't matter, they've sold on this idea that the problem is who's using them, not the fact they've been oversold.

Like selling a scam weight loss supplement and then citing a fake study to deny a refund.

I can't believe anyone advocating for this has a job. If it were up to me these people should be forced to physical labor making minimum wage for 12 hour days.

yep, and the worst part is these q's have come from *agencies* .

I walked out of an interview where they stated their current director was being a stick in the mud about using AI for production.

The remaining job postings are exceptionally conservative as well. Companies that are hiring are exceptionally narrow with what they’re looking for.

It’s like this everywhere in the creative field right now. Even people who build physical things.

The job interviews I’ve had for the most part have been “how will you replace our creative team of writers / designers with AI?”
