a pair of blue LEAP branded NiMH batteries

i found these old batteries a little while back. They're probably from about 2002-2004 or so and they still charge up and hold a charge pretty well.

First thought: that battery factory sure had some kinda secret sauce.

Second: these batteries are probably older than some of you.

if they use secure boot to do it, it's only because it's a mechanism they chose to exploit

the way i think about it is secure boot as it exists today is fine, you can still sign/boot any software you choose to if you're the owner

it could be changed in the future, sure, but if we're in a situation where platform manufacturers are malicious, it doesn't really matter
