The truth is I love Screamer. I'm currently addicted. This entire review was satire for an April Fools joke. I'll give my actual thoughts on the game later.

Don't listen to anyone that glazes this game. Screamer is skillslop. People only like it because it challenges them.

Verdict: Screamer is a racing game that tries too hard to be different from other racing games. The mechanics are too complex and fail to improve upon the traditional racing experience everyone knows and loves.

The message of the story is also cheesy. It's about love overpowering hatred. Yeah, I got nothing else to say about this shit.

Honestly, my favorite character was Dirk. He's asshole who works for himself and would've made a better boss than Hope. But Milestone turned him into their own torture experiment. Roisin and Hope are always insulting him for no good reason.

Speaking of Girlbosses, Anaconda Corp's ending is so atrocious. Spoiler Alert: The real leader of the Anaconda Corp team is Hope. She does something so snake-like that makes me hate her character.

But the worst character by far has got to be Roisin. She just insults her team for no fucking reason and speaks like she's a Viziepop character. They just made her a girlboss lesbian and they expect us to cry after what happens in the end.

Oh and forgot about Hina. What she and Akane did to Gregor was so uncalled for. All he did was yell Ritsuko. HOW DOES THAT JUSTIFY ALMOST KILLING HIM?

The worst team in this game is Strike Force Romanda. Akane is going through a breakup and Ritsuko is grieving over the loss of her fiance. Big whoop! People die all the time and its easy to move on. I'm to race, not listen to a therapy session.

The story tried and failed to make everyone complex characters. They're all one-note and boring. They even tried to give the main antagonist nuance and tried to make him misunderstood. What ever happened to those rivals where we wanted to punch in the face? I WANT THOSE BACK!

The issue I have it that it's unneccessary. If you create a game mechanic, just tell us how it works from a gameplay perspective. If Mario doesn't use Floatanium to explain how floating blocks work, then Screamer doesn't need to lore for how the game plays.

The story also tries to give a lore reason for why the mechanics of the game work. They tell you that everyone can come back to life because of the ECHO. They also explain that the abilities and attacks are formed from stress.

But the worst part is definitely the story. The animated cutscenes are good, but why did they have to make it a visual novel? At least, I can skip over it. It's much better than racing at least.

The music is just as awful as the driving. Its just you're generic manufactured high energy EDM. Electronic has no place in racing games. It should just be purely Rock or Metal. I'd rather listen to Disturbed than Skrillex anyday of the week.

Then there's the ECHO system. Using boost and shields to gain attack power is nice, but why does the ultimate ability that turns me into a battering ram cause me to explode once I hit a wall? If you give me an invincible ability, I WANT TO FEEL INVINCIBLE GODDAMMIT!!!

First of all, let's talk about the control scheme. It is HORRENDOUS. I love grip racing and I don't mind drifting, but who the fuck that it was a good idea to drift with TWO THUMBSTICKS? And that's not even the worst part. Every car feels like I'm drifting a truck.

I don't like this game at all. It's honestly so confusing that people are glazing this game so much, giving it an 8/10, and saying "this is what the racing game genre needs."

I know Mario Kart World has its detractors but its version of Rainbow Road is up there with the most euphoric moments of gaming. Ever.
