We’re planning to reopen the Barnhartvale Landfill, Landfill Diversion Area, and Yard Waste Site tomorrow (Sunday, April 12), provided conditions remain stable overnight.
The Barnhartvale Landfill, Landfill Diversion Area, and Yard Waste Site will be closed on Saturday, April 11, due to a fire. Kamloops Fire Rescue is on site attending to the fire and will remain on scene overnight. An update will be provided tomorrow afternoon.

Our line painting program kicks off Sunday, April 12, starting with overnight work across the city.
🌙 Night Shift:
• Runs 9:00 pm–7:00 am, seven days a week
• Two crews painting up to 4–6 intersections per night
• One dedicated crew focusing on crosswalks and road symbols

▪ Outside, upgrades continue with improvements to the accessibility ramp and surrounding area, and gardens are being prepared for opening.
▪ The iconic stained-glass windows are also being cleaned and restored with support from the original artist.
The St. Andrew’s on the Square Renovation Project continues to progress well and is anticipated to reach completion in the coming weeks.
