A close up of part of the first four rows of an interlocking filet blanket crocjeted with black and variegated rainbow yarn as the 2 colors. The pattern kind of looks like an upside down stepped pyramid outlined in black.

-threads the white yarn onto a tapestry needle. They then work back into the white yarn with the tapestry needle, splitting the ply. They pull the needle through the spliced yarn but keep a loop to work into their knitting project. The yarn end is pre-woven into the new strand & they knit as normal.

a horrific screenshot of canva that has on the right, a smaller, darker image of me and under/to the left of it the "brightened" image that no longer LOOKS ANYTHING LIKE ME in ways that are uncanny and awful, including beyond "lightening" it, literally gave me more anglo-white skin, stripped the gray from my beard, redid all my hairs (???) fucked up my eyelids???????? and removed all features from my gloriously large nose. I'm pretty sure what it did to my nose counts as an anti-Italian hate crime

copies in paper and hardback there of the new book. Which...even if they back out of this, it's a huge red flag for me because it suggests there's something more going on.

Right now I'm selling more on Ingram and on Itch than on D2D. Something's hinky.

6 days ago 2 1 0 0

I'm particularly pissed off because *something* happened to my sales in November. My Barnes and Noble links stopped working and I lost sales of my new book because it took D2D TEN DAYS to say it was published. And Books2Read never picked it up.
Well, going direct and with Ingram. I've sold more

6 days ago 2 2 1 0

Unfortunately, this would mean that they would charge me more than the $2 or whatever that 1-2 back issues make a year. So.... yeah, good job D2D making sure self publishing isn't associated with slop by *checks notes* chasing long-tail pre-LLM fic off your platform.

ALSO? THIS. SMALL CREATORS WILL HAVE THE SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT HASN'T BEEN ENOUGH TO PAY OUT YET STOLEN BY THE SITE.

"but that's less than $10 keffy"

Yeah, i bet it's not an insubstantial amount across all the small accounts, though. I bet it adds up to a nice little pile of new revenue

ANYWAY, yes I did tell then that they are driving my NON LLM BOOKS off their platform. Feel free to let them know how maintenance fees will affect you.
